Its a bunch cause its more than 2. But theyll all be sold out by the time the shows roll around anyway.
Noah is fine. Not my kinda deal but the argument wasn’t on whether he warranted the spot or if it was a good booking. This festival had Lumineers and Rufus headline so it’s not out of sorts for them to bump a sub to headliner level. But there’s no way you’re selling me on him currently being the biggest headliner they’ve “had in years” which is the statement that started all this.
Osheaga’s primary markets are probably Toronto, Boston, and obviously Montreal. And there’s probably an argument that he’s the biggest in those areas.

seeing as his other Quebec show isn’t even sold out I’m gonna say he’s not overly big in the province and I doubt he’s bigger than Kendrick or Billie in Toronto. Boston argument likely fair as his Fenway prices are insane. He’s a fine headliner and he’s having a moment, but he’s probably not even the biggest headliner on the bill (SZA), let alone the biggest the festival has had in years.

He’s got 3 sold out arena shows in Toronto and the cheapest ticket for resale is about $400. He’s huge here.
And I didn’t include Quebec City? It’s a pretty different market, a lot more French. Hardly any acts even play there. Kendrick and Billie didn’t. And even there it’s nearly sold out other than a few charity tickets and couple others.

so you just get to pick the nearby markets that supports your stance? Got it.

Ok let’s include it. Noah Kahan has sold say 15k tickets there. That’s 15k more than any other headliner recently lol.

so he’s bigger strictly because he’s touring right now? Burna Boy just sold out SB back to back nights. Perhaps he should headline over SZA since he’s sold more tickets lately.

That’s not what I’m saying at all. You pointed to Noah’s sales in Quebec City as evidence he’s not popular and I’m saying that’s a market all other headliners recently didn’t even play. Just look at how abysmally QOTSA is selling there. There is a reason most acts skip it.
The wife and I are pretty much in for this. Everything has been reserved since lineup eve, just need to buy Osh tickets. Going to wait until the schedule is released in June before fully committing. Speaking of, I did make a clashfinder for this. If Justice is closing Mountain vs. Green I'm happy, as a SZA/Justice conflict would be tragic. After seeing snippets of Coach I'm pretty confident Justice have to be on one of the main stages with their production.
We are excited to explore Montreal as well. Already have a general exploration plan but open to any recommendations on things to do and places to eat/drink.

if somehow i can see all or most of TDCC, Bladee, Romy, Overmono, JYOTY, Avalon Emerson, Denzel Curry, Chappell Roan, Sofia Kourtesis, SZA, Justice, Alvvays and Raye I’ll commit as well. heres hoping the schedule is good
Gesa & Kali headlining a new fest in Jean Drapeau on September 6th & 7th. I really want to see Gesa, and I may be seeing Justice at III Points if our crew opts to do that. Suffice to say, the stakes have been upped for Osh’s schedule release. Some of it depends on the fall fest lineups too. I’d wager we still end up doing Osh since we got really great flights and accommodations, but we shall see.

I’m about 95% committed for this right now. About to start going through the lineup. Any recommendations? I went to Coachella so am familiar with all the overlap there.

out for osh now but highly recommend catching Avalon Emerson, Denzel Curry, Alvvays (fantastic set at BC), Overmono and Mannequin Pussy

Definitely plan to catch Alvvays, one of the acts I’m most looking forward to. I like Denzel Curry too, but going with my wife and he’s not her style at all so will likely end up missing that one.

I second what Tofu said. You should check out Arlo, Brittany Howard, Chappell, Confidence Man, Folamour, Raye, Romy, and Sofia Kourtesis
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

Chappell Roan is probably who I’m most excited for. Love Brittany Howard and Raye was fantastic at Coachella.

Friday: Mannequin Pussy > The Japanese House > Blonde Redhead > Sleater-Kinney > TDCC > Teddy Swims > Romy > a bit of Bladee > Overmono > back and forth Noah/Mochakk
(Missing at least most of Skepta; seen him before, he rules)
Saturday: Linda Lindas > Chappell Roan (from likely very far away lol) > Sofia Kourtesis > Rancid > Denzel Curry > T-Pain > Smashing Pumpkins > Green Day > Ed Banger afterparty (wooooo)
(Missing Labrinth, Irene Dresel, Brittany Howard and Renee Rapp likely. Tough losses but not unexpected. Wish Irene was booked for where Sofia was but she'll do amazing at night. I just know Irene Dresel is the surprise set of the weekend)
Sunday: Model Man > Confidence Man > Diiv > Amyl & the Sniffers > Kevin Abstract > Tyla/Alvvays > Still Woozy > Hozier > Justice
(Missing Jungle but seen them twice before, Mau P and SZA, but honestly I was ready for that. Raye vs Amyl is a tough call for me)
Fri: Mannequin Pussy > Japanese House > JYOTY > Avalon Emerson > Romy > Overmono > Mochakk
Saturday: Chappell Roan > Sofia Kourtesis > Denzel Curry > T Pain > Labrinth > Uncle Waffles
Sunday: Confidence Man > Raye > Alvvays > Hamza > Jungle > Justice/SZA
Friday is the day that truly sucks to miss but overall Outside Lands just appeals more to me and feels more worth the cost. Plus Justice is playing in boston w/ braxe and falcon the friday of osh so that helps the fomo too
My wife & I are officially in for this. We arrive at 2:00 on Thursday, so we should have plenty of time to explore Montreal throughout the weekend. Open to any recommendations on places to eat & things to do.
The schedule turned out okay. In a vacuum, I would have been really bummed with the SZA & Justice and Hozier & Jungle conflicts but I'm most likely going to III Points so I should be able to catch Justice & Jungle there. How early we get in each day is somewhat flexible, as I want to ensure we have plenty of time to do Montreal things. MP on Friday & Elyanna on Sunday may be sacrificed for this. If my wife wasn't so excited to see Chappell, we may have gone in later on Saturday (say for Denzel or Renee).
Friday:
Mannequin Pussy > The Japanese House > Blonde Redhead > Fridayy > Arlo Parks > Teddy Swims > Romy > Overmono > Noah Kahan
Two Door & Arlo is the one tough conflict on Friday. When considering the full 3 day schedule, we don't have many shows on the Green/Valley side so that ended up being the tiebreaker. Outside of that, thisday was scheduled really well. I'm assuming both Romy & Overmono are live sets, but if they end up being DJ sets that does dampen the day quite a bit for me. We just saw Noah in Charlotte, so we willfeel okay leaving early to beat the Metro rush.
Saturday:
Chappel Roan > Sofia Kourtesis >CRi/Denzel > Renee Rapp > Smashing Pumpkins > Green Day
Lightest day for me. Would probably be more excited if I didn't just see Chappel at Roo. Sucks we will miss Brittany, but we want to ensure we see all of Renee. Would definitely have tried to fit Labrinth in there if we hadn't seen him last fall. We've never seen the Pumpkins or Green Day, so it will be nice to check those off the list. Like Friday, will probably be okay leaving GD early since that is a 2 hour show. But we will play it be ear.
Sunday:
Elyanna > Briston Maroney > Confidence Man > RAYE > Ash/food/walk around > Alvvays > Still Woozy > Hozier > SZA
SZA & Justice conflict is brutal. Literally my #1 & #2. Hoping to do III Points to alleviate that conflict, but that's not set in stone so we could decide to do Jungle/Justice instead of Hozier/SZA. Wanted to catch DIIV, but that would have been tough with RAYE being on the other side of the venue. Really think she will be a lot higher on lineups for the next cycle. Plus it allows us to see Con Man and avoid getting on the shuck shit list. If this day was scheduled better, it had the potential to be up there on the kvothe top festival runs list
i know she directly conflicts with two other people you want to see but i cannot recommend Avalon Emerson enough. shes one of the best techno djs/producers active rn

Oh yeah 100% this.
Also for later in that day I considered seeing Irene Dresel in Paris and didn’t go since tickets sold out fast over there. Her live setup looked really interesting and she’s a big deal in the Francophone dance music world so it could be a lot of fun here.

I know others on here are big fans of her as well. We will probably stop in on our way back from Arlo. I really loved Charm, but I'm guessing her set will be pretty different from that album's vibe.

Definitely check out the latin/gay quarter - the Berri-Uquam metro station where you get on the yellow line for Osheaga is at the start of Rue St Catherine pedestrian only section. Obviously the old quarter. There's a great tiny Cuban bar I highly recommend - El pequeno. Plenty of great food. Get poutine. Lots of good food trucks at the fest too.

And Schwartz's but that's also a given; and bagels, gotta have a bagel
