Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
But in deference to you, your post stating it was based on nothing but preference made me smile. Hope you change your mind and come else I’ll need to make a trip over there in the winter.
Why would anything other than preference matter?
The Justice show I saw at iii Points a month ago was better than any electronic show I’ve seen at Bonnaroo unless LCD counts. Could see arguments for the others I mentioned. Its a worthwhile conversation starter. If you dont want to engage in that conversation and only want to say “that’s ridiculous” with no further content… ok thanks for posting.

Don’t have to bro it. I’ve seen Justice before and again. I even made it a point another time to pay some respects before going see St Vincent solo set. I’ll see them at Bonnaroo in 2024. I expect it to end up in the 7-8 range of the weekend. Maybe 2nd or 3rd favorite EDM show for me but highly respectable. I don’t have shit to prove which I’m sure you know.

I think Jamie was the best electronic set I've seen there, not counting Darkside and LCD because of guitars. The Justice show I saw at PS (hypothetically on the farm) would be #1 for sure
thinking abt making a full mock later tonight. i am very unfamiliar with smaller name EDM artists, so does anyone wanna drop some names? i would rlly appreciate it

Theres nothing to prove. I’d just like to know who people (including and especially you) consider to be the best electronic acts to ever play Roo so I can decide if I think they are better than Justice.

Justice doesn’t play until June, so I can’t tell you how they stack up to all time Bonnaroo. Maybe they played way back when in a year I didn’t go to which I don’t know or can’t speak for if they did. I just know I’ve seen them and liked them but they never blew me away. I’m not ready to put them on Inforoo’s overhyped list either.
What I’ve seen, Skrillex was good in 2012, a couple of the late Bassnectar shows were on time though fuck him, Both Pretty Lights shows last year were great. Flying Lotus and Gramatik were good in 2015. Then G Jones, a couple Liquid Stranger sets, Shlump. Even Deadmau5 who generally annoys me was good. It could be expanded to bands and that’s another list. I’ll see how it stacks up in person and let you know.
The best “EDM” set I saw at Bonnaroo was Flying Lotus. This is based on fact, not personal opinion.
That set was good. I saw him a year or two later at a club and liked it even more. But it was a 3D show. And I’ve only seen him, Kraftwerk and Primus that I can recall. I’m sure any of my kids could add another couple 3D shows but I’m blanked.
For manders, that Thursday PL show with you and Snowman goes down in the books.
If Roo got Justice, would that be the best electronic act they’ve ever booked?
Four Tet comes to mind. Jamie XX but that was full sun up afternoon. Caribou is different but we can count it. Trying to think of other contenders.
Met Elucid from Armand Hammer after their set, we talked for a bit and before he left went “what’s the one set I should check out?” Told him Four Tet and then showed him where the stage was. Reeiterated, best act you’ll hear all day. Hope he made it.

Third Roo so not much to speak on, but Imanu on Thursday last year in where in the woods blew my mind. Very light crowd. Best dnb set I’ve heard like ever. Wishing he could come back to Roo.

This looks great! My only suggestion is add some hardcore/punk. Knocked Loose had an insane set 23, Idles killed it this year, both packing the tent. I think bands who move the crowd do really well and with festivals like sound and fury, LDB, FYA all selling out like day of drop, is insane. It’s a market Coachella incorporates that draws really well (this year having Gel and Speed and a few others I can’t remember.)
bands like power trip, drain, scowl, gel, speed, Candy, are all being booked on other festivals with great draws. All the very positive Roo vibes (in a fun emotional purge)
I have to agree, Korn is way better and bigger than Avril Lavigne. Still don't know how they got away with putting MF Korn so low on the lineup
