Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
at least it's reassuring knowing that our potential top card is phenominal
Glass Animals, Avril, Dom Dolla, Hozier, Goose, John Summit, King Gizzard, Luke Combs (well, okay, not this), Vampire Weekend, Justice, Tipper, Olivia, LCD Soundsystem, Tyler, Queens of the Stone Age and Foster the People? we're in for a great time
the thing is, lcd hasn’t been confirmed whatsoever so as the other acts pile up, the less likely they are to be booked. same goes for someone like sturgill who would have been a slam dunk booking this year but isn’t even showing up in mocks anymore bc our leaks are so top-heavy
this is a more concise version of what i was trying to say yesterday. holding onto foolish hope that Sturgill is the Sunday headliner because I think he makes more thematic sense with someone like Kacey than Hozier does, but I'm not expecting his name or LCD to show up on the lineup
I feel like LCD is this year's VW - where I take a weekend off and come back and everyone's talking like they've been confirmed.
Out Reddit post got too big, apparently there's a text size limit and we hit it. We may do some of the notes/other festivals in the comment section to reduce that. Honestly I don't think that's happened before.

sturgill headlining sunday would be great but i feel like we’d have seen a bit more excitement from daniel (unless he’s a sturgill hater)

spitballing ideas but could you potentially embed like a google doc for the middle level stuff (unlikely, etc) to save room in the actual thread?
That would make my life a thousand times easier, but I don't think Reddit allows Google Docs embeded - or anything really. I run everything through sheets then copy/paste things over to it which works fine enough.
Previously I linked straight to the google docs because I did everything there and edited the post at the end of the day, but Google's traffic feed showed that basically nobody used it. I don't think I link it anymore

ah gotcha, I think maybe the best idea for now would be, like you said, to move the other festival line up stuff to the comments and maybe just provide a weekly update on any new announcements for festivals there
I think we are probably discounting an act from Porto or Barca that could/will be at Roo. Didn’t Kendrick have a European festival date in 2023 that was a day before or after he was at Roo and we didn’t find out he was a headliner for us until quite a bit after it was announced?
Edit nevermind it looks like there was a few days between his European dates and Roo

Daniel has said a couple of times that one of the Sunday acts he knows (either the headliner or #2) is someone he's been chasing live for years. Based on nothing but availability that sounds more like Sturgill than Hozier to me, but idk what Daniel's personal taste/schedule is like
If there was a draft for "somewhat expensive acts that are way more popular on Inforoo than the general public", LCD would easily be #1.
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are another long time winner of this category- for years they would be on every mock and people would think they're likely and it would never happen.

But but, Bonnaroo loves booking expensive acts that are way more popular to the general public than on infoRoo. We get a couple, it’s only fair.

Remember this year when Porto booked Justice and they literally couldn’t play because the stage was unable to support the weight of all their lights? Imagine if that happened at Bonnaroo next year

I would end it all right there on the stage that failed them

as much as i adore lcd soundsystem, it is crazy to see how little the general public really fuck with them. when i saw them at iii points, the entire crowd on the main stage left between porter robinson and lcd soundsystem and you could walk right up and get barricade (which i did). it obviously filled in more before their set but it felt kind of insane to see no one besides a couple dozen or so (many of which were people on this forum lmao) cared about getting a good spot for the headliner of the fest.
