They book Tame, Justice and Jungle and literally anything else would just be a plus for me. Would be the same as PL x2 + Khru but better. I feel like once it is solidified it would be a verrrry smart idea to go ahead and announce Tame as soon as they can, easy push for ticket sales there and the most got-to-have booking.
I’ve been in the camp that doesn’t want Tame back without a new album. But we are now essentially 2 years removed from the US tour and a new album is (apparently) on the way.
If they have him booked I would agree it makes a lot of sense to leak that first. Would get people excited and give them a solid ticket base to start.

Not posting the screen shots, but Owl said that the most requested genres on the surveys were EDM (first by a significant margin,) rock, and pop. They also said that rap had fallen back a bit and that jam bands were a distant last. I guess this means I'll stop predicting Phish for next year then...

The crowds Dead Co and Phish draw are old, the crowd that Billy and Goose draws, which is who most people here are rattling for, absolutely are not. (WSMFP is timeless).
There’s a whole new generation of jam adjacent artists that could find a home at this fest. Dumb tweet.

EDM would be highly requested by me if that meant acts like Justice, Gesaffelstein, Todd Terje, Caribou, or any Nico Jaar project.
However the EDM that Roo books isn't the kind I get into for the most part. However based on some of the crowds I see at the Other, I'm in the minority.

Yeah.. this is my problem with it too and edm for a while was my primary draw for Roo but at this point I am completely over the cheesy brostep excision, Wooli, subtronic types and actual want to see something great like the acts you mentioned. Some of it is tolerable in the right moments but for the most point, keep it away please. But I don't work behind the scenes and I don't see the real numbers and how they make these decisions and I kind of gave up hope after they booked Diplo and Two Friends and will just let it be.

i wouldn’t even say that dead and co and phish crowds are old. there are pretty diverse age ranges for their shows, it’s just that there are more 50+ year olds that watch dead and co and phish than billy and goose. plus phish and dead and co have dedicated fanbases that add up to guaranteed ticket sales. it doesn’t matter what the survey says, jam fans are so dedicated to watching their bands that they could bring people in. especially with bonnaroo’s history with jam and the memories people have of going to previous bonnaroo

but fr Phish headlined two night of this fest 5 years ago and it sold out. There just aren’t that many new jam bands coming out that are big enough for people to give a shit about. Feels like Roo could just have Billy headline every other year and no one would give a shit.
LOL at the FestiveOwl. I know three former multiple-year ‘Rooers at the Phish fest this week, and I’m sure they’re not the only ones. If Bonnaroo leans even more into EDM, then I will have even less FOMO than I had this past year.
