Now that I listen to PL, I gotta say that sunrise set was exactly what I needed from them. While I appreciate the love for PL on the What stage, the vibe was so much better during the sunrise. They can play Roo every year. A WITW set would be amazing, although I don't see that happening (soon).

This new PL ep has at least 3 songs from the sunrise set on it. Just finished listening and all I could think about was how incredible that sunrise set was and my soul was flying high.

New Cure album Nov 1st!!! I know it’s wishful thinking. But legacy headliner? LETS GO!!!!!!
We all want The Cure and they do get thrown around a lot as a potential headliner, but despite their popularity and ability to sell out arenas they just never feel like a Roo headliner to me.
Griz did sing-alongs, Jack Antonoff did the 80s, Sylvan esso got skipped, we had Cory Wong in 23 and emojam in 24. I figure they gotta be booking the superjam host soon so they can have time to tap other guests and prepare. Any chance we get anything heavier rock for a superjam? Or rap or edm like some of the old superjams from the 2010s?
skrillex + friends sj // snoop dogg or missy elliott sj would be so fun too
I would love something like Snoop hosting a west coast superjam. Skrillex & friends would be wild but probably too big for a tent, i wonder if they will ever move a superjam to the other stage or the which?

i'm really excited for a new Cure album though!
What about Late Night Which? Or do you think they’re too big for that?

i just scanned over a handful of the festivals The Cure performed at in 2023 and it looks like they are always top billing on their day. So yeah I think it's What Headliner or nothing.

“I wasn’t doing anything and I was asked, did I want to go to Mexico for a couple of days and play guitar for the Grateful Dead? I wasn’t really familiar with them, because in my early twenties in Kentucky there was a jam band scene which I dismissed as unstructured noodling, and I lumped the Dead into that.
Then when Bob sent me 60 songs I had to learn, I thought, why is this so easy? It’s almost like I could anticipate where Jerry was going. And it was because Jerry played folk, country, bluegrass and blues, the same way I play guitar! He is now my favorite guitar player.
And after I got home from those shows, all I could think about was playing guitar for 10 hours a day again. I called my booking agent and said, ‘I wanna go on tour.’ Jerry Garcia, I hate to say it, might have saved my life!”
yet another reason to be grateful for Jerry Garcia. he gave us sturgill back.
EDIT: also it's another piece of data to add to my fantasy of Sturgill taking over after Bobby dies.

That's just his way of saying he's more of a hippie than a cowboy.

Omg I know. Loved reading this. Not a Dead guy but bless Jerry. Sturggy is playing 3 hours no breaks
Billy out, 2 night nashville run in March. He was my hope for Thursday headliner, maybe they bring back Panic for old times sake? I’ve been thinking that Thursday slot could be a cool way to kinda preserve the festival’s heritage by highlighting acts that have made a big impact throughout Roo’s history (feel like PL fits loosely enough to that definition)

Those Nashville shows this past year were insanoooo though so at least hopefully the shows will be on par with this year. But tbh idk a year that Billy would ever not play TN or Nashville. He lives in Nashville to my understanding. So maybe we could still do it.
