Billy out, 2 night nashville run in March. He was my hope for Thursday headliner, maybe they bring back Panic for old times sake? I’ve been thinking that Thursday slot could be a cool way to kinda preserve the festival’s heritage by highlighting acts that have made a big impact throughout Roo’s history (feel like PL fits loosely enough to that definition)
However much I want them to be creative with who they book for Thursday What, I expect it to be EDM as well next year. Gryffin, Zeds Dead, Liquid Stranger, PL, Fischer were all the last Thursday bookings they put their focus on.
I don't necessarily think they are trying to book something for that slot either, but if something becomes available after they booked the main headliners they would consider it. Pretty Lights probably fit that perfectly as they could've just done the sunrise set. They either already booked the headliners before they booked PL or they booked Fred Again and didn't want 2 EDM headliners.
The Thursday slot in my opinion should only be booked when the right opportunity arises. With Daniel mentioning no rap headliner this year, they could book something for that Thursday "headliner" spot. The idea of booking something to preserve their heritage is cool too, when the festival lacks that overall.
Upcoming Shows: 11/8 - Goose @ The Andrew J. Brady Center 11/13 - Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros w/ The Wolfpack & The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall 2/14 - Alan Walker @ The Fillmore Detroit 4/15 - Ben Folds w/ The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall

might just be me wanting billy on the farm so i'm lying to myself, but for some reason i feel like nashville dates in march don't necessarily rule billy out from bonnaroo. like he falls under the jamband radius clause rule.

Same here. Fairly sure he lives in Nashville and there’s just so many cool guests that can sit in for those shows. This past years run of shows were insanooo. I just don’t see a year where he doesn’t do a run of shows in Nashville. Helps that she shows are end of Feb first of March.

Billy did 3 nights at the Ryman a month before he played Roo 22. It doesn’t really make a difference.
Very true. But don't forget these were rescheduled shows due to covid. Originally these shows were in Dec 2021.
counterpoint: evolution has no foresight. Complex machinery develops its own agendas. Brains cheat. Feedback loops evolve to promote stable heartbeats and then stumble upon the temptation of rhythm and music. The rush evoked by fractal imagery, the algorithms used for habitat selection, metastasize into art. Thrills that once had to be earned in increments of fitness can now be had from pointless introspection. Aesthetics rise unbidden from a trillion dopamine receptors, and the system moves beyond modeling the organism. It begins to model the very process of modeling. It consumes evermore the computational resources, bogs itself down with endless recursion and irrelevant simulations. Like the parasitic DNA that accretes in every natural genome, it persists and proliferates and produces nothing but itself. Metaprocesses bloom like cancer, and awaken, and call themselves I.

who do you guys realistically think are going to be our headliners?
I think Rufus and Tame are a good guess for 2 of the 3 headliners. Dua/Coldplay/Gaga/The Cure are in my mind bookings they should go after in 2025 but don't see it happening.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
