Overall I like the album. Its got some great tracks and a couple flat, forgettable tracks that feel like they are 75% finished and still need more work. I really hope we get them on the farm in 25!
I think it has some of the most cliche lyrics I have ever heard, particularly In This Moment and New York.
Tbf I don’t think their lyrical creativity is the main draw to their music.
I’m not saying it is either, just pointing out what I thought. I suppose if this is the first time I’ve ever noticed their lyrics it means the music wasn’t grabbing my attention like their previous work. I still enjoyed Lately, Breathe and Pressure.

This.
The 3 singles they released are good, most of the rest of the album is forgettable. Fine, but nothing stands out much to me yet. Music Is Better seems made specifically for commercials lol

See lots of people including Justice in their mocks…
Would they even draw at roo in 2024? If you put Justice on and have GWN, Griz, or any other wook-adjacent bass music in the woods, WITW will have the larger turnout.
With how young the crowd is at roo, I can’t really imagine Justice being a major pull on the lineup.

I think they would, at the very least they had those two Tame Impala collabs I’m sure the kids would love to hear live haha
Fri. Jack White * Skrillex (LN Which) Queens Of The Stone Age * Empire of the Sun * Zedd
Sat. The Killers * Rufus Du Sol (LN Which) Charli XCX * Foster The People * Charlotte de Witte
Sun. Dave Matthews Band Vampire Weekend * String Cheese Incident * Rezz
I like this lineup but I would be worried about the “all white dude older rock acts for headliners” path this would lead us down. Think Danny Wimmer alone does that enough anyways hehehe
Jimmy Herring is dealing with cancer right now, so even in an alternate universe where bonnaroo might consider booking Widespread Panic for '25, Widespread Panic is not going to be playing bonnaroo in 2025.

I see them pulling somewhere between GWN and Griz. They’ve been requested for years and got a ton of new fans with the Tame collabs. It should be pretty well attended when they play LN Which Saturday night as I’m watching from the pit. (speaking into existence)

What rap bookings do we expect in a year with no rap headliner? Do we expect some to be billed top #10? If so, who do you see them book?
All rap headliners per year (counting all in top 4):
2008: Kanye West (#4) 2009: Beastie Boys (#3) 2010: Jay-Z (#4) 2011: Eminem (#1) 2012: /// 2013: /// 2014: Kanye West (#2) 2015: Kendrick Lamar (#4) 2016: J. Cole (#4) 2017: Chance The Rapper (#4) 2018: Eminem (#1) 2019: Post Malone, Childish Gambino 2020: /// 2021: Tyler, The Creator 2022: J. Cole 2023: Kendrick Lamar 2024: Post Malone
So in the last 17 editions, it only happened 3 times that they didn't book a rap headliner. They haven't booked Drake, Lil Wayne (played in 2011) or Nicki Minaj which all could headline at some point imo. I didn't count The Weeknd or Lizzo as rap bookings but one could make an argument for those 2. An Outkast reunion would probably be my number one choice if it ever happens for acts they haven't booked.
2012: Radiohead, RHCP, Phish, Beach Boys, Avett Brothers, The Shins, Foster The People, Skrillex
The Roots (#13) and Black Star (#17) were the highest billed. 2012 seemed to ignore spending big bucks on rap but had Mac Miller, Childish Gambino, GZA, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, Kendrick Lamar,... overall pretty good year for rap.
2013: McCartney, Mumford, Tom Petty, Björk, Wilco, Pretty Lights, R. Kelly, Wu-Tang Clan
R. Kelly (#7) and Wu-Tang Clan (#8) were the highest billed. 2013 booked no rap in the top 6 again. They did have Kendrick, Nas, Macklemore, ASAP Rocky,... little weaker than the year before.
2020: Tool, Lizzo, Tame Impala, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Flume, Vampire Weekend, Oysterhead, Bass#$
Not including Lizzo which I see as a pop-headliner, Run The Jewels and Young Thug (top 12-15) were the highest billed. 2020 was probably one the weakest years for rap. They did have Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby and Nelly on the lineup.

Also looking at that, Eminem would make a lot of sense since he played 2011 and 2018. 2025 would have him play every 7 years and he still has to tour with his new album.
Probably should've included Dr. Dre too in my list although he rarely headlines a festival.
I think the Owl said that hip-hop wasn't very highly requested on the surveys, so I think it makes sense that there might not be a headliner in that genre this year. I think the EDM headliner is here to stay for the foreseeable future though.
I guess Cudi has never played and I imagine the reddit base loves him
Kid Cudi RUFUS DU SOL Dave Matthews Band
I think Cudi could headline Thursday but not Fri-Sun. Honestly looking at our past #4 billed bookings, Kid Cudi would be disappointing. Probably a fun show though.
