They bankrupted themselves by thinking you could charge double what the Spain version did for less talent. And Goldenvoice kneecapped em with TANP. Prima shouldve partnered with GV and you wouldve had a legit FYF replacement.
i saw the smashing pumpkins in october 2022 and that show had some of the most cross-generational crowd i had seen in a while. like young people old people entire families. smashing pumpkins would make such a sick sub or third on their day
25% prediction 75% manifestation for the 90s nostalgia act: Smashing Pumpkins with D'arcy returning
Billy is not always a reliable translator or a reasonable person, but D'Arcy hasn't been on any real stage in 25 years and wasn't exactly Les Claypool in her prime.
There's just not a big enough payday out there anymore that anyone would try and jeopardize that type of train wreck.
It would be great for it to happen one day in a smaller setting, but that's about it.
The White Stripes in the NO DOUBT slot would be dreamy
Stripes would just headline. And you can do a RTTD after them. Jack had The Weeknd follow in 2015. So early slot headliner and then a dj or rapper to close works fine.
Could also easily see HAIM returning with a new album this year. Would fit the Socal vibe that this year's lineup leaned heavily into.
Would love it if they returned as a fan, not sure how "interesting" of a sub they would be though.
My wildcard SoCal pick for 2025 is The Beach Boys. Sublime, No Doubt, etc. having great crowd turn outs may motivate them to keep a strong local artist presence since majority of goers are local

It has to be Brian Wilson not Maga Mike Love. And theres plenty of so cal acts that play, its not difficult to do that. Essentially have 3 so cal headliners this year was nice for people but obviously didnt move the needle. Theres plenty of california acts to be had, itll be fine.

Oh they could absolutely do bigger SoCal headliners than Doja, Tyler, and No Doubt. There's almost an endless pot. I was putting Beach Boys more in the Sublime pot, as in they're WAY bigger in Socal than anywhere else and can pull a large crowd just because, even though it hasn't been hard to see them post covid

It probably wouldnt hit like you think. Its a narrow window of what the young ones know and would be willing to watch. The Pet Sounds anniversary already passed. They would put em on Outdoor at dusk like Steely Dan. They scheduled Nile Rodgers incorrectly when he played thats for sure. If you had him later on in the day leading into Beyonce it wouldve been much better than Haim. Blondie was first line and was in Mojave. Stevie Nick would be like one of the only older gen acts that would make the young demo freak over. Her on main at golden hour would be it.
Long time lurker of this forum…finally made an account lol This was my first time not going to Coachella since 2016 and had severe fomo last Saturday watching the livestream (Friday and Sunday were eh for me).
I wanted to take part on the mock lineup game so I made an initial 2025 mock lineup playlist. Booking order still needs some fixing but I tried to be somewhat realistic with album releases, etc. Still need to add ~ 20 acts so numbers on the poster is more similar to 2023. I am big into electronic so probably missing more acts from other genres (specially international). Happy to take suggestions to round it up and will make edits as we get info on tours, releases, etc
Friday: Dua Lipa (new album radical optimism) The XX | Rauw Alejandro | PARTYNEXTDOOR | Nelly Furtado | Above & Beyond | Clairo | Kehlani | Still Woozy | Soulwax
Saturday: Rihanna Jack Harlow | Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross | Glass Animals| FKA Twigs | Summer Walker | REZZMAU5 | Beabadoobee | Bad Gyal | Four Tet
Sunday: SZA (new album lana) Rüfüs du Sol | Pet Shop Boys | Lil Nas X | Aphex Twin | Polo G | Benson Boone | The Marias | AESPA | Nero

I've never said YES! and NO! in such a rollercoaster ride in my life lol
They had easily the most crowded day from what I hear. Also sold out 3 nights at the Forum last year and did so quickly. Kids would just much rather see these bands at their own show than pay festival (see: Boygenius and Re:Set), which I know doesn't help Coachella's cause, but they're a great way to please all ages and the rock crowd. Say what you will about the quality of their last two albums, but popularity-wise, they're bigger than ever.

They did have a big crowd. I talked to a lot of people who came just for them. They were bummed out that they didnt just wait ( or know ) for Life is Beautiful to announce because they liked that lineup more and the price point was better. I dont think ( at that time ) that anyone cared if they did a festival or not. It was just a matter of what you were gonna get out of it. LiB def messed with Prima too cause you couldve seen Gorillaz and AM for less than the cost of a Prima 3 day. Value reigns supreme.

Needs more Depeche Mode
Funny enough - I had Depeche Mode on there, but not sure If they will be touring again next year?

Dm is done. Like done done done. I pretty much have accepted that i wont see them perform again unless they did a farewell show. Thus why I saw them 4 times on the tour.
