Post and Green Day would be the biggest subs the fest has ever had by a lot. And neither make sense with Fred headlining. But I’m all for it if Coachella feels like breaking the bank this year.

it sounds like Green Day and Post are backup deals, which makes sense. Lock in a safe headliner early, have two expensive subs just in-case deals fall through. I kinda get the logic.
I have my doubts about Charli accepting a sub spot for Taylor Swift after all the kerfuffle a few years ago about how Charli didn't like opening for her / the lyrics on Sympathy is a Knife

Taylor choosing to headline Coachella just to keep Charli out feels right
Also hot take but people complaining about Taylor Swift headlining / making broad sweeping generalizations about a crowd of 125k music festival attendees are more insufferable than the actual crowd she'd bring
The biggest downside to it would be the cost of housing more than any tangible change in experience on the fields imo

Yeah her entire crowd would be glued to the front of main the entire day so unless you're planning on camping to see her you will likely have minimal interaction.

100%
Also the only way the festival would actually be overrun with swifties is if they’d announced her before presale, like Beyoncé. The whole nature of the presale is such that it guarantees a huge portion of the crowd (the majority probably?) isn’t there for any one artist.

I think Coachella has pretty much always had the ability to pay whatever for artists, but the problem was getting them to sign in to lineup placements.
If you can get 2 huge artists to agree to be a large font sub then they have the money to make it happen
That Taylor Swift mention was kinda random and is intriguing to me. I get the relevance to stadium touring vs. festival playing, but why bring her up? It didn't feel like a shutdown of the rumor, nor really an upshot either. Still makes me curious about that Yeazy comment about something "much bigger," but hey, maybe I'm delusional.

Nooticing
Considering he said "someone bigger" before, and now he's saying Taylor Swift, makes me think this might be close to actually happening.

I have to imagine there’s an open offer out to Taylor and it just depends on whether she wants to do it or not, it makes some sense as a post eras tour victory lap
