I'm literally just trying to let people know that there are great inexpensive options out there and I'm being called an unemployed broke deadbeat by random people and then have you tell me I'm an idiot for driving 5-10 minutes further than Palm Springs to stay at a resort instead of an Airbnb.
story time, I had a room booked for Saturday night of 2006. Went to Coachella, Daft Punk went late, parking was a nightmare, and we didn't get to morongo until after 2 or so. They had a check-in policy that you had to be there by midnight that we didn't know about so we were left with no where to stay because they gave away our room. Decided to drive all the way back home (luckily just Temecula which is less than 90 minutes away) and then drive back out for Sunday by around 4pm.

I mean you probably should’ve just called your hotel to let them know that you’re going to roll up that late lol. That is a shitty situation, but I would never just arrive past 2am at any hotel and just assume that everything will be fine, especially a hotel like that during a busy weekend.

one of my girlfriend's booked the room so it's all her fault. but still, what's the point of a reservation if it doesn't reserve anything lol. It was already paid so she had to get a refund minus whatever fees she paid.

Normally I'd agree you can't necessarily expect anything at 2am, but Morongo's a casino, isn't it? I would definitely expect them to take care of you that late lol.

I wanted to book W1 but they don't even have pricing for Safari yet. And so few hotel options. I think VMT is scrambling this year, what a shitshow. Maybe they had to consolidate hotel options to make their key hotels happy and ditch the newer hotels after last year? And they told us they were rethinking some of the Safari Residences and making them cheaper again because so few sold relative to the tents, so maybe that is the Safari holdup. Feels like this presale is just too soon for the packages.

now that you mentioned this I think it was something just like this that caused the issue. I vaguely remember something like you can check in any time that day and that's probably why my friend assumed we could check in after the festival not realizing that midnight was the following day.
