Anyone in here ever used the ADA services at the fest? My sister really wants to go, she’s in her mid 50s, slight mobility issues but undergoing cancer treatment so stamina is shot.
She read through everything and the program sounds like it would work for her. If you’ve used it before was it difficult to get one of the seats on the ADA platform. She’d be using it herself as we don’t want to occupy space for other people with disabilities, just curious if anyone ever had issues getting a spot on there?
I use ADA now that I'm 50+ and have some mobility issues. The ADA team is great and she won't have any issues registering. The seating at the stages is great but get there early for popular acts because the platform will fill up. Getting to and from parking or camp is easy since they have shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off but once you're inside the festival you're on your own and there will be walking involved. Outdoor stage has power to recharge mobility devices and a private restroom but the other stages are close enough to regular bathrooms. If it's hot they usually have water at the platforms too.
She can have 1 guest on the platform but when the platform fills up they make the guests stand in the back (there's enough room for everyone's guest for the most part).
did W1 for the first time last year. I have 3 other W2's to compare it to. Barley noticed the fresh grass as it dies very fast anyway, I felt like I somehow got MORE dust in my lung W1 but that's just me Also noticeable diff in crowds, but same great shows.
I say it comes down to what days u can get PTO on lol
Depends on how much rain we get early in the year before Coachella. If it's a dry year, even W1 will get dusty but there's been rainy years where the grass is super lush W1 and lasts all weekend like 2019 I believe
AEG have worked with her and Tollett has talked about her doing the fest. A surprise set sidesteps any billing question and wont compete with other LA shows.
Please no, or if it happens it needs to be a back discog set. 143 was easily worst bigger pop release of the year, and Smile/Witness wouldn't go down well with the crowd.

Even with the ada access there is still a ton of walking inside the venue if she doesn’t use a wheelchair, they don’t provide movement between stages etc once inside the gates. And have heard about issues getting a cart back to the car at the end of the night for people. If treatments are affecting their immune system be extra cautious and mask up because valley fever is a thing out there and is an insanely nasty fungus, even during the day when it doesn’t seem dusty it absolutely is.
Maybe you’ll get lucky and get to point and laugh at stupid girls at the ada tent demanding access, cursing the workers, because they are short and sick of smelling peoples armpits, claim their height is a disability. Have never wanted to smack some sense into someone before, but was ready that day.
I think it's good to caution people about Kraftwerk who might have false expectations of a younger man's EDM set, but I also feel compelled to say I saw their headlining set at Movement in Detroit fully with "here for the legacy more than the songs" type expectations and walked away extremely impressed, I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. I suspect people who go into it with the proper (or no) expectations will generally have a great time, their legend status is well-deserved

just like heaven and cruel world have introduced shuttle inside the festival so I think Coachella might give it a try at some point, but it hasn't worked out that well for the Pasadena festivals yet so maybe not ready for a large scale event like Coachella. If they could introduce a shuttle to/from the 4 corners some day it would be amazing.

yeah I think it’s mostly a liability issue, especially once the sun goes down, just too many people around to safely navigate the ga areas with a cart. Had my own golf cart at Coachella several times and it was a game changer when I had my old crappy lungs. Now back to a point where these transplanted ones are failing so may be time to start rolling around again.
Don't think the subs are getting enough attention. Missy, Charli, and Megan feels pretty enormous for subs and they already got Stadium sized headliners
And then they got the Misfits on top of that. Regardless of what you think of the top 7 artists, they certainly went for a feel that it would be 'bigger' this year

if they wanted to they could just use the safari routes. at the pasadena fests they exit the festival grounds for stage transports.

It's definitely a "here's where your money went" type of year. Which is kind of an easier sell than someone needing to explain why Jhene Aiko is actually a big deal.
Glass half full says all 3 subs did ARENA tours last year. Glass half empty says all 3 subs did arena tours LAST YEAR.
I love that Kraftwerk is on the poster of an event that I am attending so that I can pretend I am cultured, but will probably be at Jennie because I'm not. Not missing Basement Jaxx for anybody though.

Even crazier is all three are proven arena-level acts. We’re in an era where Coachella gets 6-7 headliner-caliber acts, depending upon the year
MPH I feel is not quite at Coachella poster level yet, I feel like Do-Lab this year, Coachella the following makes a lot more sense, but I feel you on a lot of these others. I took it for granted that Caribou and Floating Points Live would be here, tbh.
I am shocked Soulwax isn't making its return (along with despacio, which everything I had heard indicated both being there). I guess they either felt they had enough legacy type acts already, or they just couldnt work out billing.
What if Travis was blurring Despacio all day long LMAO
Would love to be surprised but I doubt despacio happens without any dwele bros or james murphy projects playing. Worst case scenario we get Travis Scott's version of Despacio...a circle of way too much bass heavy stacks just playing FE!N the entire time.
wait what weekend are all the divas going. I think I qualify for presale since I bought a ticket outright in 2023
W2. Wanna be able to take W1 to sort out conflicts and hopefully the rush of Travis fans will be concentrated in W1. Also just generally less packed and more space to dance, and vibes are better due to the higher concentration of OGs and other music nerds who actually appreciate the music.

Yes but compare to last year when all three HEADLINERS had done arena tours the prior year.
I also just realized the Misfits logo is notably bigger than the other second line acts, the M in Misfits is the same size as Charli. It'll be funny if/when the "super sub" font size starts expanding beyond 3 acts until it's just the entire second line lol

we have a big group of 16 goers that are all on the fence. houses are already booked, but stuck in a purgatory of whether to go or not. perhaps itll just be one domino fall to kick it all off, but I guess we're in the small minority here where this lineup just doesnt scream must-go.

2x cancer survivor with lingering long term side effects here. That’s exactly why I use ADA. You’re usually ok getting a seat on ADA platforms unless it’s a HL or a really anticipated act (Labrinth and Chappell were real bad). If it’s something like that you need to get set or 2 early. Normally they’re pretty good managing the seats but last year the attendants did a terrible job managing the crowds. They’re supposed to boot blue bands to make room for the white bands and they didn’t. I saw a girl with a broken leg stand for Jhene Aiko because people wouldn’t give up their seats.
