we have a big group of 16 goers that are all on the fence. houses are already booked, but stuck in a purgatory of whether to go or not. perhaps itll just be one domino fall to kick it all off, but I guess we're in the small minority here where this lineup just doesnt scream must-go.
I think the rare electronic acts are enough along plus Gaga seems to be coming with an insane set, plus Charli on the fields, amongst literally everything else. I say do it.
I think Gaga will have a decent set but to impress me she's got to make the Telephone live collab debut happen with Beyonce. It's been 15 years Stefani ...

We have Beyonce potential with three of the headliners so..

Chance that Beyonce guests for Post or Travis: 0%
I just meant that the chances of Beyonce guesting are higher simply because she has collabs with all three, not that she'd guest for them. The most likely would be Gaga, although given the Cowboy Carter angle, I could see her guesting Post, I don't see why she wouldn't.

Does it make sense for them to even release the Quasar lineup this early? I could see a potential backfire scenario if one of the weekends is deemed far stronger than the other
edit: It also doesn't make sense in my opinion to release it for general sale and not in time for loyalty and amex sales

Quasar last year was last minute and new. It could very well be that DJs will play both weekends, or that they'll add a DJ in that 10-1 slot, or that the lineup is released now, or the lineup is released with the set times. We have the concept from last year but this year will be more telling for execution from here on out.

she wont. and the fact that she has collabs with travis and post doesnt make it more likely that she would guest for gaga either. chance beyonce guests for post or travis: 0% chance increase beyonce guests for gaga because she has collabs with travis and post: 0% love the enthusiasm, but lets be realistic first.

It does in the sense that the stage isn't brand new and a last minute addition like it was this year. We don't know how they're working the booking for it yet. Also Quasar backlash is such a non-issue outside of music nerds on Inforoo, the vast portion of attendees do not care as seriously about this besides "cool."
In fact, getting them out earlier helps the vast majority of buyers (who aren't Amex or Loyalty) choose between weekends. Also loyalty presale and amex sales can just switch weekends.
I think that was just a kind heads up Quasar is happening and those artists aren't on the lineup, but they will finalize them closer to the fest
I mean Quasar is loading.. seems to mean that we're getting a lineup sooner rather than later. Maybe not now but probs in the next few weeks. Now would make the most sense though. You need the frontloaded hype to drive the ticket sales on release, when most people buy them.
- lane 8 b2b nora en pure - golfos (pls) - skrillex please like i need him in some capacity this isnt fair - carl cox b2b vintage culture (that set looked insane) or carl solo <3
Don't think the subs are getting enough attention. Missy, Charli, and Megan feels pretty enormous for subs and they already got Stadium sized headliners
And then they got the Misfits on top of that. Regardless of what you think of the top 7 artists, they certainly went for a feel that it would be 'bigger' this year
It's definitely a "here's where your money went" type of year. Which is kind of an easier sell than someone needing to explain why Jhene Aiko is actually a big deal.
Glass half full says all 3 subs did ARENA tours last year. Glass half empty says all 3 subs did arena tours LAST YEAR.
This lineup is very reminiscent of 2023. Definitely a Coachella for the oldies - I remember how much of Gen Z was saying 2023 was trash when it was the best lineup they had booked in years
Would def recommend anyone getting a locker to get it now, I bet they'll sell out. Seems like a merch heavy lineup today (Charli, Trav in particular) and I'm sure people aren't going to be lugging it around.

I also would like the Quasar lineup ASAP because I am an impatient nerd, but these two sentences are contradictory.

How is it contradictory? They were was saying that backlash would affect sales, me denying that it would isn't mutually exclusive with it having some negligible effect of helping people choose weekends and also providing more general hype for overall sales.

Though I know their DJ sets aren’t as good as them doing a live set, I wouldn’t mind Disclosure doing Quasar. Really wish they were in Zedd’s spot on the poster.

if Quasar backlash isn’t a big deal among non-music nerds, non-music nerds also aren’t going to choose between weekends based on Quasar.

Not a hill I'm ready to die on at all but that seems kind of silly, no? Why mention it at all? "Before you buy a ticket, reminder that there may be 3-4 more acts over the weekend that you might like too, but you just won't know who they are for months, and they might be different each weekend so before you buy a W1 or W2 ticket, just know that your favorite might be on a different weekend but you won't know". My read was that a separate announcement is coming sooner than later, but given that this is all pretty new I wouldn't be remotely surprised if I read into it wrong. Over on Reddit though that seems to be the common interpretation.

I think regardless it builds hype and EDM fans in particular will be swayed by which weekend has what. There are way more benefits to releasing the lineup than the negligible backlash that might or might not exist is what I'm saying.

Beth Gibbons was good at Primavera however the sound bleed really sucked, maybe it's better if she's in Mojave or something but it was a pretty quiet and intense set. Roads was pretty easily the moment of the weekend
...did they finally fix the locker line problem? This is listed on the locker purchase page:
"NOTE: GA Lockers are AXS mobile ID digital passes that will be sent to the AXS or Coachella mobile app beginning in early April 2025. Approximately 1 week before the show, your locker assignment and lock combination will be sent to the email address associated with your order."
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

This is the system they used at Portola and it is fucking epic. You literally just walk up to your locker and are good to go. So easy.
