I read somewhere that iiiPoints starts booking in January for October. ~9 months before. Do we think Coachella has the same range of book to festival date? If so - let the games begin baby

They start booking some artists before the previous year’s fest has even started.
didnt they recently not perform somewhere bc of the govt? I feel like the November election may ummmm change any US plans for them after November
At the risk of sending this to the political other tent board, aren't they scheduled to play a show in the state that Ron Desantis governs and enacts oppresive laws in?
He can only headline at this point. Has anyone ever headliner twice in three years?
He didnt headline in 2023. Closing out the evening doesnt mean youre headlining. Its happened lots of times. And OMG TBA isnt even on the poster it officially lists Blink 182 and Frank on their respective weekends.
I like Fred and loved his 2022 set but i'd be pretty disappointed to have someone who's played LA/West Coast so frequently in the past couple years as a hler. Particularly coming off OMG TBA

on the poster or not, they played.
Yeah. And thats fine but its not messing up any timing stuff. He last played a set in 2022. So its 3 years removed which isnt that bad. This isnt The Black Keys in 2012 being a sub and in 2012 getting thrown in cause of Black Sabbath dropping.

The point is Coachella isn’t going to take that set into account when considering him for 2025. They’re not going to be thinking “he just headlined so we can’t book him again so soon”. Especially since it was only for one weekend.
another important thing to note regarding scarcity; even though he has performed often on the west coast, he still has not played much of the US. and the cities he has played he’s only done pretty small venues relatively speaking. He’s a pretty rare get for the US as a whole and i could def see the coachella demo willing to travel to see him

I feel you, but they did it with Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, Tyler The Creator, Doja Cat recently.. so they probably overlook the "frequently played the region" when booking headliners =/
It's funny how some people argue an act can headline or sub Coachella because the act is big on the West Coast and some people argue an act can headline or sub Coachella because people who aren't from the West Coast will travel to see them.
New Rex Orange County album in September. Feels like he shows up since he is one of the acts from 2020 that hasn’t come back.
Didn't he get accused of a ton of stuff?
he did but unfortunately people dont care about that anymore. he played camp flog gnaw last year as his big “comeback.” mind you it is incredibly difficult to charge someone with rape in the UK and there has to be substantial evidence. one tiny inconsistency can derail an entire case. Love Tyler but one thing i dislike is his propensity to book artists who have been accused of shit in the past
