From now on anyone that folks in here are calling a "industry plant" who "only makes music for teenage girls" I'll just assume they're using that as shorthand for headliner.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
But you see, no artist has ascended to headliner status this quickly since *checks notes*…Billie Eillish and Olivia Rodrigo.
The timing is the issue. You knew Billie would get there and for Coachella it was sooner due outside other things. Cause Im sure she prob wouldve just headlined this year if she hadnt in 22. So 5 years after her first appearance. Now people are just getting fast tracked to kingdom come. If they dont get to headline by album 2 and within 2 years max of hitting up the circuit and such then its not happening apaprently.

Brother, calm down. She just blew up, she hasn’t even had a chance yet to stabilize her ground. She’s not going to be some out of play headliner by 2026 nor the headliner from yesterday. In fact, I’m sure she’d play Coachella again, especially after them putting their faith in her before she even blew up lol

I’m hoping for a Moby live set to sneak onto this lineup. Has he done any of those shows here stateside yet? I know he played several in Europe earlier this year.
And yes, last year was far from a flop despite what the subreddit and this forum will tell you.
The numbers were great.
I think what people are inherently fearing however is that it marks the beginning of the end of having exceptional headliners, and then of course the following ever impending downfall of Coachella.

Coachella loves to sprinkle artists from the original lineup on to new ones so that's honestly not that far fetched

Nicks doubled down and confirmed a proper Fleetwood Mac farewell tour is out of the question with a simple “no.” She also stated, “You know there is no more Fleetwood Mac now, because when Christine [McVie] died, Fleetwood Mac died. We cannot replace her.”
11/17: Slowdive* 11/19: Caribou* 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
I think Tame Impala was the headliner that day. Pavement didn’t play the main stage.
Pavement played main stage, there's 2 side by side main stages
I haven’t been to the fest so not familiar. Google told me that Estrella Damn and Santander are the main stages and that Pavement played Pull & Bear. Either way I think Tame would be the top billed act that day.
Maybe someone can send this to GV, just to make sure they don't make the wrong decision here.
i have not listened to his music. i have only heard of Travis Scott through the outside. but does this dude even bother to tell his fans to chill lol
One of the reasons (along with not stopping his show) I hold him more personally accountable for the Astroworld incident than I might another artist, as opposed to the promotors/organizers of the fest actually in charge of crowd management, is his history of encouraging his fans to act dangerously, like scaling barriers to get into sold-out fests and stuff. He doesn't just have rowdy fans, he actively pushes them to make situations risky.

He got charged for inciting a riot at Lolla when he played. But people thought that was isolated back in 2015. Not really. He even had some kid throw themselves off a balcony and they injured themselves. They tried to sue travis.

ah that's cause they change the names of the stages every year based on the sponsors, makes its extremely annoying. in 2022 Pull&Bear was one of the main stages. and yeah tame was the biggest name, primavera is pretty loose with the term headliner
