Let’s not even get started on the fact that Snarfus and the Piss Machine would draw 10x as many people when Fred could barely even sell out Glorf Field. 🙄✋
Fred had a 200 day run at the NY Portapotty though
Charli fans sure are bitter about Fred headlining Coachella.
Why is Charli having 1 big album make her headline worthy? Did everyone say Cardi B should be a headliner back in 2018? Doja Cat was the first sub on her day in 2022 and had a bigger breakout than Charli. That would be the perfect spot to where she should land.
if you aren't Gen Z, the other crowd at Coachella is probably Millenials and the first thing that comes to mind when they hear Charli XCX is "Boom Clap"
Not sure how this is even a discussion....she should be happy to be first sub.

My mom knows what Brat is. I should have saved my out-of-touch comment for you.

Gosh your reading comprehension is awful. I said she should be a top sub which would imply it is not out of touch and is crediting her popularity.

as opposed to Fred having zero big albums?
I mean are we literally going in circles in this forum? Why are repeating this...Fred again's rise to headliner makes sense based off of his past coachella performances, like filing in for Frank Ocean in 2023 and come up being at the fest in 2022. Having a bunch of pop up shows solidified his popularity. The one thing everyone wants to claim is a negative is that his latest tour is not selling well or tickets are cheap...but they are targeted at places he's never played, not popular metro spots and he's not a pop star.
But with your logic the bench mark for coachella headliner is going off of album streams and being a pop star with crazy resale prices for mom and dad to pay? is this IheartRadio Festival? Once again, Doja Cat dropped Planet Her and was only Top Sub on her day.

I was literally addressing your statement about her lacking presence in the general population after you said millennials only know her for "Boom Clap" as if Brat is some sort of hyper zoomer specific phenomenon. Do you even know what "reading comprehension" is?
Charli would be a weak headliner and IMO could sub, but your comparisons with other subs in the past are both artists that were just blowing up with careers barely a couple years old (Cardi being booked before her debut album even dropped (also there absolutely were some loons at the time saying she should headline the next year)), as opposed to an artist with a couple major hits a decade ago, a really solid career since then, and the biggest pop music phenomenon of the most recent summer.

Fred Again's rise makes sense based on his previous coachella performances, but Charli was already on the second line, before she even blew up from Brat. Charli has literally one of the most sought after tickets for any live show this year. I really don't follow your point, because she makes pop music she has to be even bigger than Fred does?

Once again, Doja Cat dropped Planet Her and was only Top Sub on her day. you're the one that said she shouldn't headline because she only has one massive album, which makes no sense considering Fred has zero. also aren't streams and popularity literally some of the most obvious benchmarks for why someone would be a headliner anyway?
Would be funny if Fred and Charli put out a song together, this forum would have no fucking clue what to do.
Since Charli basically just dances around for her BRAT set anyways, they should just do a Brat Again... show and be done with it. Fred pressing buttons. Charli dancing and yelling "how we feeling Coachella??" Everyones happy.

I think this "Fred vs. Charli fans" thing is something that only exists in your head to justify people saying that Charli is more popular than Fred, which you don't seem to realize is the case. The case that "if Fred is headlining then so could Charli" has nothing to do with any feelings about one fanbase towards another.
The one thing everyone wants to claim is a negative is that his latest tour is not selling well or tickets are cheap...but they are targeted at places he's never played, not popular metro spots and he's not a pop star.
The fact that they aren't places he's played before makes it even worse that they aren't selling well. And they are some of the biggest metro areas in the country, he's really not gotten around much before this.
But with your logic the bench mark for coachella headliner is going off of album streams and being a pop star with crazy resale prices
So your logic is that having a huge hit album and a provably huge live demand isn't a good benchmark? Because she's a popstar and not whatever Fred Again is? Or because Fred has played Coachella before or something? (which, ya know, Charli has also been "coming up" in Coachella too)
Charli xcx is probably more popular than Fred again.., yes.
Nice to see you came around lol
Calvin Harris had a bigger crowd than Bad Bunny but I wouldn't say that means Calvin Harris is more popular. I was specifically talking about crowd size as evidenced in my first sentence when I precisely said "pull a bigger crowd", not "is more popular".

i mean it's pretty simple: Charli could be Sub, HLer or RTTD. The truth is, booking begins a lot earlier for these artists and usually is based on if they're comfortable with the compensation offered.
like, hell, we might have Post Malone and Green Day subs(?) while having Fred as a headliner which throws some 'conventional' logic out the window
