Coachella is the superior lineup, but both have plenty I would and wouldn't see. I never liked No Doubt, but good for those who do. Seems like a bit of crossover this year between the festivals - maybe 7 or 8 acts? Is that amount about typical?
that sounds right because we share headliners sometimes
I forget which thread it was said on, but apparently rap / r&b tours did not sell well at all last year. Down time for the genre in a live sense. Down time for festivals in all senses lmao
ohhhh interesting that makes sense and explains why there aren’t a ton on lineups. also i think bookers are lacking rappers that fall in the middle (like jid or joey). everyone is either huge like drake / kendrick or just a tik tok special of the week
There’s potential to book a lot more nostalgia rap acts that aren’t huge but would be a draw for people. Folks like Chingy or Ying Yang Twins that wouldn’t break the bank for Roo but would hit a real sweet spot for anyone who was in high school and college during the 2000s

Bring me Yung Joc
New Joc City is one of my favorite rap albums ever, I would be so hyped to see Black Donald Trump on the farm
It just kinda hit me this morning that I’m finally gonna see her 😭 Almost broke my neck in the shower
She's an amazing performer, you're gonna have such a great time. Saw her at festivals each of the last two years and even though the sound got all fucked up at All Things Go it was still a party.
Very surprised you don’t know Bicep. And if you like Fred you’ll like Barry Can’t Swim. Folamour worth checking as well. Weak day for sure but has more going for it than Bonnaroo Saturday for my taste.
thanks, i should know bicep, i know they get mentioned around here a lot. and even without further research i'm confident there are many excellent electronic acts at coachella i would enjoy. since the pandemic and not going to movement in a while i haven't been keeping up with electronic music as much.
You should listen to Bicep. It’s really good. Not as good as Billy Strings but still awesome

The 2022 Bonny Light Horseman album is really great. Been on repeat for me all week as I’ve been snowed away from work. Super warm, joyful melodies and guitar playing. Their newest single “Once on Another Day” is also very good. It’s matching a similar spot as the Beth’s did last year for me.
i’ve been getting into american truck simulator if anyone else wants to
I played this game for the first time in VR the other day. Stick shift is absurdly hard, and I got motion sick after barreling through a toll booth. 10/10

just heard 3 seconds of Under the Bridge in an instagram story and I've decided I am excited, thank you very much, for the Chili Peppas with John FruiSCANTE

my friends all told me to buy an xbox controller to play but i just use mouse and keyboard with an mmo mouse with a bunch of buttons on the side so i can custom map and now it’s my favorite game
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

i will say the hard thing about figuring out what an EDM artist sounds like these days is almost none of the tracks on spotify is just them. you're trying to find a track by "Hamdi" but on all their tracks the artist is "NGHTMRE, Excision, Tiesto, FISHER, Baby Guac, Marshmello, Rezz, SVDDEN DEATH, Hornix, DJ Donkey, Hamdi, Future"

agree, that's why i prefer youtube for sets from edm artists. gives a better feel of what they play and their ~vibes~.

couldn't agree more. god bless EDC for having every set by every EDM artist ever available on youtube.

I’m realizing now I should have stayed truer to the original scene and gone with “there are too many featured artists on Spotify tracks nowadays. Please remove three”

If I find any more 3 piece folk bands who only make bangers I’ll let you know.
I saw her on Valentines Day after Emotion came out and dang best vday ever
I’m struggling hard to like any of her stuff considering 4th or 5th grade would have been the point it might have made sense. Sorry. I haven’t liked most pop for pop sake since I was little. Collin even cracked on it harder than me when I was playing some and is considering not going for free because he despises the lineup. If I was proud of kid 2 for that I’d say it. But I actually do like a good bit of the lineup enough to go. So regardless of whether or not he’s in, I’m still going. I don’t think he’s missed any since 2014. He hates Post Malone, tried several Fred shows and recordings and didn’t like any of it, and didn’t like Carly whatsoever. To each their own I guess but maybe some shit will surprise live.
