Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
I'm curious if anyone changed their vote post lineup?
That's whey i came back, to check. I'm still in for both weekends, and not just because i have travel packages and am locked it...but i am not getting any younger, and Both Weekends seems less likely each year, or me anyway.

it looks like the majority of "maybe" has switched to no. I wish I grabbed a screenshot before the lineup came out though!
2017 was my last bothchella. I honestly don't know if I have it in me anymore. Lol

Looks like we have more W2 than we did before. Not sure if that is because people are going to try to nab tickets below face or what.

I we are going to have to catch Chappell Roan together.

Hi. This is my first time in Coachella. Can someone explain me why lot of people are saying that W2 will be more cheaper? It has the same sets and bands, isn't it?

there's typically less demand for weekend 2 so it stays at tier 1 longer and then in the resale market you can also usually get them cheaper than weekend 1. Happy first Coachella!
Tentative yes after exploring the line up and ticket options. Seems like it’s gonna be a great year for resale, so if I can swoop up a deal, I’ll be there Weekend 2.

It's the less popular weekend, even though IMO it is by far the better weekend.
The same bands playing more or less the same times (sometimes there are small schedule tweaks but nothing major).
If a band is bringing a big surprise guest, that guest will often only play one weekend. There was a time back when Coach first did the two weekend thing (2012) where all the special guests would come W1 and so that fueled the demand, now they are pretty evenly split between the two weekends, even the huge guests.
W1 - everything is "fresh", the grounds and special shows aren't spoiled, the grass is super green and lush, but sometimes the logistics (especially Friday) are a fucking mess. If you are about this sort of thing, the huge famous afterparties (that usually mean you have to miss the headliner or last few hours of the festival anyway) are usually only W1 and there are more celebrities. You won't meet the celebrities unless you have a Guest/Artist pass and you won't be invited to those afterparties anyway, but for some it's more exciting.
W2 - the grass is usually beat to shit, although somehow last year it was still super green until Sunday or so, but the logistics are flawless and any issues re: tech, lines, shuttles, etc from W1 are fixed. The stereotype is that the crowd energy is better because there are less influencer and industry types, which is something I do find to be true and many artists have commented on from onstage, but this is a big dispute amongst W1 and W2 loyalists. No big afterparties, not many celebrities. There is some degree of spoilers however I think it's a positive thing too, since you will hear about which acts had the can't miss show and which whiffed it and my schedule changes based on this every year.
Should be noted that I met a connected GV insider last year who said that W2 is actually MORE crowded despite the common perception - fewer people attend W2, but they tend to arrive earlier and stay later, vs W1 where people arrive later and leave earlier on average. Probably because there are a lot more industry types who come for a few hours. Anyway the data shows that there are more people on the fields W2 on average than W1 at any given time even though fewer tickets are sold.

I agree with everything you said. Also it's really interesting to hear about the GV insider saying W2 was more crowded, because I went both weekends and that was exactly how I felt. To some degree I chalked it up to my scheduling (I went to more "bigger" sets W2 cause I was with more friends) but there were points where I was crossing certain areas at the same time a week later and definitely felt like there were significantly more people. It seemed nonsensical to me so it's nice to have some external confirmation.
Before I post on Reddit, I thought I'd post here (based on friends suggestions), but I'm wondering if anyone is heading out and attending (or wanting to/on the fence) weekend 1, and would like to camp with me? I have a car camping pass (and a GA wristband for myself) we could use (for your car, or if you're with a group who's wanting one more spot), but I need a ride to/from the festival for weekend 1 (all my friends are going weekend 2 only, so I'm left alone for weekend 1). I've attended 27 straight Coachella's, so I need to make it #28 for Coachella 2024 Weekend 1. I'm in the LA area (Eagle Rock), so if anyone is heading out that I could carpool with, that'd be awesome (leave Thursday, come back Monday I ideally). I'm happy to help with gas money, and of course, I have camping gear (tent, canopy, lights, air mattresses, etc). If you, or someone you know/trust, is down, please hit me up (reply or DM me). If you don't know me, I have plenty of friends who can vouch for me (one's who I've attended Coachella with), I run themojavetent.com (a Coachella dedicated site), I'm friends with with folks at GV, I've help contribute to the festival/art installations in the past, I was admin on the old Coachella board, so hopefully I pass any test you throw at me. Anyway, yeah, in need of a ride/camping friends for weekend 1, so please reach out if you can help <3

if any of you weekend 1 folk know what's good for you, you'll feed menik. He's a solid dude and he's practically a Coachella museum and great conversationalist. We've been camp mates for like 10 years at many different festivals.

I second this. Been camping with these two for years. Best group around. I used to be his weekend1 buddy until I left Cali. 😔
