I would think they would have them start before sunset and play through golden hour and maybe end during or right before the headliner each night. "Quasar" and the background they use on the IG post just give me the impression this is a sunset thing.
Honestly though my first thought was this was Coachella's answer to Bonnaroo's late night, except theres an actual sound curfew.

But they specifically highlight *sunset* for Saturday w2 and none of the others
I'm really enjoying the idea to make these "extended 3+ hour sets." Had they been normal set times this would have just added to conflicts but the fact that artists will be spinning constantly for hours means there's bound to be some downtime in your schedule for you to pop over for like 15mins or so if you wanna check them out. Very much feels like Do Lab 2 (TwoLab? lol.)
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

As long as the stage is big enough where that's a possibility, of course. I am thinking circular open stage.

Yeah, the 3+ hour thing right away makes me less worried about conflicts. These can overlap with stuff I want to see, and I'll still prob be able to find 30-60 minutes where I can check it out.
A circular stage would be rad, though I'm not sure how getting artists in and out of the stage would work - I guess you'd have to have a catwalk or something leading away, but you're putting the artists pretty close to the crowd by doing that and they wouldn't have a choice about it (unlike a lead singer jumping into the crowd or something). And it wouldn't make the flow of the audience any better.

Soundbleed is gonna be the whole deal with placement

Well if Mikey is right, it's going either at the old Sahara spot or the Antarctic Dome spot. I am guessing it's going in the old Sahara spot and soundbleed shouldn't be an issue for anybody there.

Given it's an outdoor stage and not a tent I wonder if the soundbleed might be more of an issue, but I suppose the stage most at risk would be the Sahara and that is plenty loud. I also do find it somewhat amusing that they built this massive new Sahara and then booked these acts, many of whom are arguably bigger than anything actually going in the Sahara (Jamie, Prydz, Rufus at least would be higher billed on their own than any of the likely Sahara acts aside from maybe Ice Spice).

Sounding more and more like it's going in the old Sahara location, though that isn't confirmed.

Does this stage have anything to do with what you were saying they’d be doing with the main stage on Sunday?
While I totally understand that assuming Quasar will be running pre-headliner is the move, the one thing I don't get is why this festival has moved away from solid counter-programming against headliners. Ending your weekend with Jamie xx or Mau P is a huge party for those who don't care about Doja Cat, but them vs Barry Can't Swim --> BICEP is super lame.
It also looks like Diplo and Mau P did not know they'd be playing together unless that is a gimmick. Wonder if GV reached out to a bunch of big DJs to see if they'd do B2Bs and then curated the groupings themselves.
Might want to push the Quasar sets back a few hours earlier, the promo vid definitely implies it's going to run when the sun is still out.
But Prydz is at Sunset so that implies itll go into the evening. Why would they even show renderings of night time when that sun light rendering is possibly a default?
