My maybe-hot take is that I absolutely do not want longer set times. 50ish minutes is extremely ideal to me to get sets that are more killer and less filler, and increase the number of total acts I can see. If I want 90 minutes, I'll see them on tour. If they're all 90 minutes, that means either more split sets or fewer total sets I see per day. No thank you.
Also, Khruangbin seem tailor made for the Outdoor Sunset slot, but Jhene at 5pm on the main also seems odd.
Charli XCX went on around 5-5:30 last year, and I think Charli is a little bigger and has met devout fans.
Charli was billed eighth on her day, Jhene is billed either third or fourth (if NO DOUBT is Sunday).
The current overlap of japanese house, faye webster, neil frances, and the beths is giving me heart palpitations thinking about it, really hoping they dont all conflict with each other since they cater to similar audiences
Ultimately, billing trumps all. If Charli had been fourth billed on her day, she wouldn't have played at 5pm.
I saw an interview with the lead singer from King Gizzard where he said Coachella offers you more money to take lower billing. Obviously billing is a great clue when guessing the schedule, just thought it was interesting and could explain some wonky billing.

Boygenius played after prydz and closed outdoor even though prydz was billed first. SB closed Sahara.
Charli also is way buzzier and had a way bigger hit going into the fest than jhene ever had, to my knowledge. Either way I could see aiko w a 5:30 main

boygenius did not in fact play after Prydz or close the outdoor, and SB did not in fact close the Sahara lol. Well done.
And all of their set times were what you'd expect for where they were billed.

Probably because they have certain artists who will absolutely refuse to play unless they’re second line so they basically pay off others to make room for them.

Other than being completely wrong about everything you said it was a great post though.

Was wrong about outdoor, but suicide boys definitely closed Sahara W1.

It's not like there is a strict order (except for the last 3 on Main almost all the time), especially for a stage like the Sahara. 4th names essentially never play in daylight.

Also echoing that they probably will have L'Imperatrice somewhere different this time.
I like L’Imperatrice in the Gorgon City spot from 2019. Outdoor around 6ish with the sun setting but not dark yet.
Trying to figure out what to do with L'Imperatrice right now. While I like this suggestion on paper, actually making this happen is harder than it seems. To move them there, we'd need to move Deftones to Mojave, which makes sense, but who could we move out of the Mojave to make room, and where does that act now go?
I think we need to move flight facilities out of the Yuma. They played a dj set last year in the do lab. I’m sure they are bringing their live set with featured vocalist. I would go with gobi or Mojave for sure

I’ll let you get creative with some of the moves, but moving the Deftones to the Mojave against Everything Always makes sense in my head. That means Young Miko need to move with someone. She most likely can’t fit in the Gobi for a true L’Imperatrice swap so I’ll defer to you with the exact move.
My personal opinion is slot Miko where Sabrina Carpenter is and have Sabrina close the Mojave where Tinashe is as she is good counter programming to Justice and Bizarap IMO and gives Lana fans something to see during that long break on the main. Tinashe you can slot in lots of places as I don’t think she warrants closing a stage.
Final comment I really think Yoasobi plays at night. Gobi tent similar to Perfume feels right.

I agree with this, especially after watching their arena shows.

Not sure what the best way to remedy this would be.

Honestly just looking at how the layout is that day I think it’s probably inevitable they’ll overlap in one way or another, wherever they play 😭 fwiw Faye has the most concurrent monthly listeners over everyone after her on the mock currently aside from Sabrina. Not sure if that even factors into how popular she’ll be at the fest or if that influences set times at all but I could see her being moved later in the Mojave(like the Weyes blood time slot from Sunday last year) or like a mid day outdoor/maybe opening the main?

Yeah, I was trying to figure out a way to have the overlap as minimally as possible, but it's tough lol
True, Faye is pretty big, which is why I've been tempted to have her on the Main since the lineup dropped...though Mojave could also certainly work I'm pretty sure. I'm not really sure how we could put her later in the Mojave though, we can't exactly move someone like Skepta to 3:30 in a tent.
I could see Brittany Howard being on the Outdoor over The Beths on Friday. The Beths seem more like a Sonora act right now.
L'Imperatrice still seems out of place. I think they should be either at night or out of the tents. Mojave 3-4 hours later, while bigger/a little later, still feels like a lateral move.
