Going to get in the ground floor of this: Coachella will make neuter out their sound, but go see Mdou Moctar, maybe the current loudest band on earth. (and also probably one of the best guitarists currently on earth too.)

I haven't seen them yet, but I listed to them from camp at Desert Daze 19 and had lots of fomo so I'm happy to see them on the lineup, for sure!
Chappel Roan: indie pop / alt pop Recent Debut LP: The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess Has a lot of range with her new album with songs like Casual, After Midnight My Kink is Karma, Femininomenon, Pink Pony Club.
Hopefully a Sonora booking as she has a lot of potential to blow up (definitely see a theatrical performance like Magdalena Bay with success rise of Ethel Cain)
feeble little horse are one of the most exciting up and coming acts for me personally, their album from last year girl with fish has so many catchy low-fi bangers go see them!
Grimes (electronic pop) is one of the coolest artists out there with one of the best songs of the 2010s (#2 according to Pitchfork). Hopefully this means new music is on the way and she’s not performing just a DJ set. Despite her & E*on M*sk, she’s a great performer and has some really unique tracks
Narrow Head is a rock / metal band with shoe gaze and grunge influences. Every time they’ve come through the Northeast, they’ve played bigger and bigger venues over the past few years, so happy to see them break through with a spot at Coachella. Should be a fun act in the Sonora.

They were incredible at TANP. Bring your chopsticks cause these dudes noodle like no other.
The Bottom Lines (lines 4-7 only); this one's the gem, fire this up and find a new favorite artist/song! Heavy on Yuma, Sonora and early Gobi/Mojave for obvious reasons
Finally, if you want a smaller nicely curated playlist check out Elmo's playlists when he posts them, they're great! And there's a million Spotify lists out there
Enjoy!
* - YG Marley currently has just a single song available on Apple
(Note: Apple is being weird and the genre playlists might not actually be sharing, I can't get them to stay on as 'show in profile and search'. I'll be sad if you can't access those links but oh well)
Cimafunk is a grammy nominated Cuban artist who has done amazing things for the community in Havana, helping grow the arts scene there and just flatout giving the local people hope and something to be proud of. will be a funky caribbean dance party.
Everyone by now has heard the Pineapple Kryptonite remix all over tiktok the last year, they have some banger songs once you listen a few times it hooks you. Also their choreo is insane and I'd be gassed if I tried that while singing for 40+ minutes lol.

Almost certain she’ll be djing. She hasn’t had a grimes billed non dj performance in about a decade. Also expect her to do live vocals with anyma

Last full live gig by Grimes was closer to 7 years ago.
As for Musk, likely estranged, they are suing each other over custody right now of the THREE kids they share(1 natural, 2 surrogate). Musk has said he has custody. Musk is already estranged from his eldest of 10 current kids.

Just listened to this, thank you for the suggestion. I REALLY liked it, and I didn't think I was going to. I was just telling Senicworld I don't like music that isn't in English. I WANT to like music in other languages, it but I can never get into it and this might be the one set I watch that isn't in English.
Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
Boy Harsher are one of the biggest dark wave acts around today. Droning and melodic techno beats with hypnotizing vocals backed by that gothic aesthetic. They grew in prominence thanks to tracks like Pain and have been a routine mainstay at festivals like Cruel World (which I'm assuming Coachella is a package deal). Hoping they play a late night set as I don't think their music translates so well during the day but either way, go check them out if you're fans of (old) Depeche Mode, Molchat Doma, New Order.

The Beths are an infectious indie rock band hailing from Auckland that produce really excellent power pop tunes. Listening them will take you back to watching teen comedies 20 years ago, and they rock out live. Expect lovely harmonies and impeccable melodies. They've got three solid albums, but their best are their first and third - Future Me Hates Me and Expert In A Dying Field.
I'm gonna start hyping feeble little horse. they are a home town band and i just found out the guitarist, Sebastian is friends with my cousin since kindergarten
Eartheater is probably the best act on this lineup. her music has a ton of range, from experimental electronic to psych folk to alt pop/rap. she always serves insane visuals and is just awesome.
Tems! Nigerian, afrobeats/r&b singer and producer. Most known for her features on Essence by Wizkid and Fountains by Drake, but her own music is amazing. Her "If A Place Was Orange" EP is worth a listen, and has new music on the way. I hope she gets a sunset Outdoor set. It would be beautiful for her sound.
Somewhere buried in the first 100 pages or so of the Coachella 2024 thread back in last May, somebody posted this Tiny Desk concert from Sid Sriram and I've been hoping to see his name on the lineup ever since. He has an incredible voice and his fusion of Carnatic singing and western pop/R&B is a unique sound unlike anything I'd personally heard before. His top tracks on Spotify appear to be mostly one off movie soundtracks, not sure to what degree he would perform those in a Coachella set, I have a feeling we'll get mostly songs from Sidharth so I'd encourage checking out that album as well as this aforementioned Tiny Desk show
I was kinda a fan of Tinashe and saw her at bonnaroo a couple years ago at like 3 pm and she was amazing. Interesting r&b sound, great voice, serving choreography. she should be much bigger than she is imo
Black Country, New Road is on the lineup! But don't call it a nepo booking just because it involves Karl Hyde's daughter; this band is legitimately dynamic and talented!
BCNR started out of the UK post-punk scene and had an art rock influence. They use traditional rock instruments but also keyboard, violin, and sax. Their former frontman and main composer had hauntingly beautiful lyrics, lots of references to other artists, and an amazing voice. Unfortunately, he left the band after their first two albums came out and before they had played a ton of shows. Now, the remnants of the band have gone a different direction -- they no longer perform songs from those albums as far as I know. They're still incredible musicians, but they switch up frontperson duties a lot and are exploring new types of sounds, more chamber pop at times, within their music. It's honestly pretty cool to see what they've been able to do after getting so much attention as a band with their first two records. A lot of people compare them to Arcade Fire. They are BFFs with the band Black Midi and sometimes perform together as Black Midi New Road. Georgia Ellery of Jockstrap is in this band and she doesn't always tour with them because Jockstrap is her main gig, but since Jockstrap is at Coachella, she'll be there! They've got so much talent and their songs are moving journeys a lot of the time. I'm excited to see how they progress in the coming years.
and I'll throw in one of their covers from their cover album:

Speaking of Jockstrap, I'm really excited to see them on the lineup. One of the most interesting indie/electro-pop acts I've heard in a while. Their "I Love You Jennifer B" album in 2022 was one of my favorites of that year. They bounce between so many different styles & genres that it’s difficult to categorize their sound. They're experimental, weird, eclectic, yet generally showcase pretty exceptional songwriting and musicianship.
