How is the ice provided? I've seen posts regarding luggage carts to move it around. Is it bagged or loose? Does it make sense to take up too much room in your cooler if you can have as much as you need? Is it clean?
They sell bags like you would buy at a grocery store (I forget how much but expensive). The reason I like to have a luggage cart is that I may want to buy 5 or 6 or more and the ice site may be a considerable walk from camp. It starts melting right away, so you want to be able to make one trip and to get it back to camp quickly and easily.
As far as the room in the cooler, did you have an impression that the ice was free? It's definitely not if so. I like to freeze a lot of water bottles and use that as my ice on the way down. Nice cold water at Roo, and doesn't take up the room that loose ice would.

one of the best things I can tell you to do is invest in DRY ICE before you go to roo. Put it in your cooler and replace the normal ice on top of it. The dry ice lasted the entire weekend, and kept the normal ice cold for much longer
I remember the ice at roo being either $2 or $4 dollars a bag......memory a bit hazy
i think it was 2 dollars a bag....we did not have that far of a walk for ice.. the ice stations are everywhere (i was smokin a j in line and the dude invited me inot the freezer truck trailer to smoke with him it was nice in there...) also the walk back with bags of ice on your head and back can be nice.....also every morning there was a pickup truck driving around selling ice out of the back which will eliminate the walk if ya can figure out what time they come by eac day

Another asked-to-death question: We plan on arriving Thursday morning, like 10ish, but can really get there anytime as we are taking lots of vaca before and after. Is there an optimal arrival time? Not too worried about the wait in line; it could be a cool bonding experience. Just don't want a sucky camp site!
