I haven’t found the right amount (enough shrooms to get me to that place that everyone talks about. But I did it once with edibles and that’s probably the highest I’ve ever been.

i remember back in the day on reddit when weed was just starting to get legalized in certain states and i was still browsing r/all there was so many articles in every sub like "study shows weed cures herpes and gets you rock hard" and the top comment was "this is why weed should be legal guys" with 3.6k upvotes.
i'm happy for weed legalization because less people going to jail for weed is good but also because it killed cool weed guy culture.

I wish this were true. Weed has been legal in NYC for a while and we're starting to get some legit dispensaries up and running, but they are vastly outnumbered by gray market smoke shops with names like "SCOOBY ZOO" and "KONGZILLA" with signs featuring cartoon characters smoking giant joints.

weed culture is awful and cringe but weed itself is great. will be honest, i am relatively inexperienced with drugs but weed feels good enough that I don't really feel the need to do anything harder.

Sort of random, but do you have an opinion on gabapentin? They gave it to my stepdad for pain, and it seemed like it was another one of those “oh this will be great and solve everything and no one will get addicted to it” drugs that always seem to turn out to be a lot less great than they promise. I don’t think he had a particular problem with it, but as far as I know, he didn’t start taking it until relatively late in the game. I’m just curious if my perspective on it was skewed.
I have also given it to two of my dogs. I think it helped them but who really can say.
Gabapentin is a decent drug, but you build up a tolerance pretty quick. Then you get hooked. needing more and more. That is why they had to make it controlled. We had a Gabapentin Kurdish mafia ring. They were a hoot. And someone that took 3 months worth in 2 weeks.

I like a VERY small controlled amount, like 2 or 3 mg in an edible or thc seltzer lol. But getting legit stoned makes me feel so anxious. It didn’t used to, many moons ago; my stoner era was circa age 16-18. Guess my brain just reacted with it differently back then. Or a lot the supply is too strong now haha

But it’s liquid. Ftw but I’m not a fan of lsd. All I’ll say was the dead went back on tour while I was in college, and we knew lots of people. Been way too deep too many times and for sure have brain damage. I’m not saying it was all bad because there were great and intense experiences. Plus the trippier music like Hawkwind and Gong made sense. But I swore that shit off in my 20’s and never tripped again. Maybe if I ever found myself on Easter Island with something to crash on if necessary I could be persuaded. But I already turned that down once. They used to call people who tripped a lot freaks. We made it into a positive.

there are stories, possibly apocryphal, that in order to join the Grateful Dead Family, or the GDF, you had to do what is called a "thumbprint test", wherein you place your thumb on pure LSD crystal. people who claim to have done this say you immediately start tripping. one user described pressing his thumb and immediately seeing a bolt of lightning and that's all he remembered for days.
