Not advocating for them to win necessarily but basketball and softball are in the sweet spot of both fun to play and also pretty fun to watch (although I think the NBA regular season is the worst professional sport). Both also have a relatively low barrier to entry.
Fishing is a lot of fun but it’s an activity not a sport
There are some huge MMA matchups where when the fight starts I'm on the edge of my seat like I've never experienced with any other sport. I was always hesitant to get into it until recently because of how brutal it is, but it is at least comforting to know that it's less dangerous than boxing and that there have never been any deaths in the UFC (not sure about other leagues).
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

I worked for a touring MMA promotion for about a year and while many many things about that job sucked, the three or so hours each week during the fights really opened up my eyes about how cool that sport can be. Since we were a lower level league, I got to see guys at all stages of their careers, from the local guys making their amateur debuts, to 9-0 pros right before they sign a UFC contract, to veterans with 50 fights under their belt, trying to get a couple more paychecks before they have to retire. The human element that I got to see behind the scenes made everything more interesting. Some guys would be puking in the locker room when their music hit, and still overcome the nerves to win. A lot of these guys were dirt poor, and only able to afford training because they picked up a sponsorship from their local dentist and lawn care company. Sure there were a few meathead rednecks who just wanted to beat people up, but those guys mostly got absolutely destroyed by the types who studied BJJ because they wanted to be more flexible and their coach said "hey you're actually pretty good at this, you should compete".
I played in highschool. It's actually a pretty solid mix of finesse and violent. Not top 10 but there are so many exercising activities that we gotta get rid of here.
Also feel like Golf should go soonish as I think of it as a fun drinking activity but boring sport to watch and unbelievably frustrating and annoying to play seriously.
It's your vote, so it's up to you to interpret. I never played golf and probably never will. I played Top Golf once and thought it was okay except for smashing the club into the ground every other swing and damaging my arm. However, I did hit one of the ball carts square in the back window net which didn't count but was a good shot. I also like putt-putt which I consider golf. It'd be like playing football. He didn't specify NFL Football, so if you don't like the NFL but like to play flag football or touch in the street with your neighborhood friends (and presumably their kids and/or grandkids at this point), you would like football. These are all generic so not specific to leagues. It also isn't specific as to watching live or on tv or participating. It's just "which is your lease favorite."

Switching to cricket since it looks like it's not golf's time to go, and cricket is both boring and elitist.
Nepalese, Indian, Tamil and Pakistani kids usually aren’t elites. It’s also played in much of the U.K. and affiliated territories and countries. Lacrosse and golf seem the most elitist since we didn’t have polo or equestrian options.

Without getting into a multi-national economic comparison, India has a lot of wealth inequality and a famously rigid caste system. I'm guessing poor Indians don't make it to the big leagues of cricketing, either.

It’s also played by millions of kids in the street. Maybe where you live has a direct correlation with caste level. But that’s India. They play it all over South Asia among other places.
John Cena should have won in the Olympic freestyle rasslin finals but they let the Russian guy win because it's scripted. He had a takedown at the edge of the mat but the ref didn't gave him the points because Cena's jorts were in the way.
I do too sometimes but I’m more talking about streetball. Could be cricket, soccer, baseball, hoops, kickball, whatever. We mostly played football, frisbee football (+/- ultimate) and softball in our neighborhood out in the street.
