personally I think it's awesome Doja only played Scarlet tracks. I've been hating on her booking since the lineup drop - not because I didn't think she's a good performer bc she obviously is - but because I thought it was going to feel like 2022 Doja 2.0 when she played all the Planet Her hits again and it was too soon to bring her back. Instead we got an entirely new set and a much different performance. I was wrong, and respect to Doja for keeping it so fresh
doja’s set was definitely entertaining and the setlist was great for people who saw her in 2022, but if you didn’t i can understand why you would be disappointed

I like Doja, but I think Scarlet just wasn’t a very strong album. So when your set is mostly a selection of your weaker songs it’s ultimately going to work against you.

She's a headliner cause she has a catalog of hits. If she doesn't play those, then she's really facing an uphill battle. And while her performance was great, it's hard for me to imagine that as a fan of hers I'd be very satisfied with what I got. Especially if I was in the 95% of the crowd that wasn't at 2022. And I know that as someone who's not really a fan but could have ended up there with radically different set times cause I expect her to put in a good show, I'd definitely be super disappointed she only played like 2 songs I actually like of hers when she has several more.

I actually think Scarlet is 100x more interesting than Planet. The production is nuts. I loved this way more than 2022. But for those who didn't see her in 22, I understand being frustrated with not hearing those big hits

I am actually happy to hear this. I like the new album much better than the earlier stuff. Wouldn’t mind hearing “Woman“ next weekend but otherwise I think the new album is her best stuff. I know I’m in the minority though.
I went to sleep pretty early. That time change to EST is brutal for couchella. About to check out BICEP, BCS, and a few others. I am REALLY sad to hear BICEP missed the mark- they were a top must see for me.

The way it was advertised, they showed all these complex renderings from laser designers and videos of the lasers going off during their set. You would think this would mean constant lasers. You would be wrong. Instead, all you get is the word “CHROMA” flashed around constantly like it means anything special beyond two singles.
The weird thing is it seemed to require just as much effort and equipment as the scaled back version of their live show they toured the US with a little while back and that was a lot better than this. I have no idea why they didn’t just do that?

I didn't realize that Khruanbin and Barry overlapped so much so I think the move next weekend is to skip Khru and go with two shell and barry before getting a spot for bicep. I feel like Krhuangbin will be at desert daze this year and the set from last night isn't sorta just their regular set so it'll be easier to catch later on. was there really no medly?
