Surprised to see Michael Kiwanuka billed below Julien Baker, I guess that's what happens when you're in boygenius. Hoping this means some new music soon.
Saturday looks good to me. Janelle, Remi Wolf, Kiwanuka and Mannequin Pussy is a solid day of tunes
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
overall, definitely underwhelmed with the lineup especially in context of how absolutely stacked the festival has been for multiple years in a row. the HLers are quite weak, and although i certainly do like some of the undercard (remi, ethel, julien, indigo, chappell, japanese house, soccer mommy, blondshell), i dont think it is enough to get me to drop that money on the fest this year.
oh well! gearing up for probably doing III in october so i dont really need to add a september fest to my fall list anyway.

I honestly think that SZA and Charli would've been an upgrade over Laufey and Hozier as headliners

That onsale sucked. This festival is way too big for MPP
agreed 18k+ people ahead of me in line presale and today yet day 2 passes up on resale for $600 managed to get a single day saturday for face value at $130 yesterday and might just eat the cost if day 2 doesnt go down. needs a major venue upgrade

The main stage is too big for the early shows to be as fun as they could be and the Chrysalis stage is too small for the later shows to be visible to most of the audience. Plus vendor lines are insanely long in the early evening, pretty much have to miss an entire show to get food.
I've enjoyed the last three years of this festival but the limitations are part of the reason I didn't even try for tickets this year.

After continually refreshing, I was able to get 2 lawn tix through a TM link that they sent out in the Discord. They should've at least kept the purchasing max to 4 tix and enabled face value exchange.
This festival has clearly outgrown MPP. I don't think it's a matter of if, but when they move. Adding a 3rd day is not going to solve the 20k capacity. I understand that they can keep overhead low since the infrastructure is already there at MPP, but it's going to have be addressed at some point. Is Audi, FedEx, Pimlico, RFK, or West Potomac an option going forward?

This is officially the same weekend at Forest Hills Stadium (on their website). Lineup to come. Would be weird if Hozier headlined here too, as he’s already playing four shows at Forest Hills this summer but I guess it’s possible.

I can't imagine there is any way Hozier is going to have been booked for a festival after playing four dates at the same venue.

Lineup out Tuesday. Probably waiting until Gov Ball is over so they can announce Chappell and Renee
Not that I don't think the demand is there for those two artists, but it would be really unusual just from a biz standpoint for artists who played at one promoter's festival in June to play another's in the same market a couple of months later.
I'm not saying it can't happen - the live music market is weird, these days - but it would be pretty mold-breaking.

Happens all there time in So Cal. Either the competition or its related to the promoter after Coachella. Hard Summer used to wait for Coachella to end and then announce their lineup which had a decent amount of crossover.

They were able to book Boygenius and announce it before Re:SET happened even though it was the same venue

This festival is run by a major artist manager (or agent I can’t remember exactly) so my guess is they have a lot of sway in these types of negotiations based on their artist roster.
