The Coachella 2022 set wasn’t “live” right? Admittedly I was super far away and couldn’t really tell, but remember that set being a pretty big disappointment compared to when I saw them in the 2014-2016 timeframe.

I think it was a DJ set and it’s a great example of my confusion about what “live” sets are actually doing given they were only playing their own music. A weird hybrid. Their fully live sets are amazing though, can’t wait.

Not a live set. They djed and had a couple of vocalists and a couple horn players pop up. That was it.
I am not really surprised - this lineup is just stacked to the tits in general, but Rufus premiering new music, the new Disclosure live show, and a rare Justice stateside date are all legitimately a bigger draw than a solo Skrillex show or Prydz HOLO imo, especially in the Bay Area where there are a ton of well paid 30 and 40 somethings who listen to this stuff.
I was procrastinating snagging my wife a one-day VIP but grabbed it just now in case this causes a run lol.

I am also considering upgrade to VIP due to selling out.
Hope the upgrade to VIP is worth it. Decided to upgrade everyone I’m with and am going to surprise them all with it at the fest!
I loved VIP at this fest. I got so close to so many acts without having to get there crazy early. Now that the VIP has sections at each stage, it's even better, although the idea of VIP at the Warehose is lame to me. They also have lockers within VIP this year which is amazing, should save a lot of walking. The food/drinks were nothing special, same as GA pretty much.

Did VIP for Just Like Heaven this year after doing GA last year, and it was so much better. Way less crowded and was able to get great spots and it seems like it'll be the same for Portola after looking at last years map. Obviously they're completely different venues and genres of music, but I'll probably always do VIP for these smaller GV fests.
