Little context for this one, I'm asking who will be the Foo Fighters, RHCP, Kendrick, Billie Eilish, etc in five or ten years. Obviously a few of these will headline soon, but who can keep their momentum going to become our legacy headliners of the future? Who's at Lolla 2034?
ik Osheaga isnt “major” per se but Rufus has headlined and Noah will be headlining later this year so they should both be in contention to win. Osheaga has booked two same year coachella headliners performing back to back on the same day.
usually the smallest headliner each year (Lana 2016, Travis Scott 2018, Lumineers 2019, Future 2022) has gone on to headline everything they play in the following years
edit: did not read the keeping momentum part. I think if anyone keeps the momentum, its Noah

This is kind of along the lines of what I was thinking about last night. We’ve seen a few bands this year that have been around 50+ years that are still playing arenas. Who do we have from the 90’s. 00’s that are going to be around that long? I don’t believe it will be many.
Can we get a rough Teddy definition of what qualifies as a major fest? Is it an average attendance number? Are we only talking about multi-genre fests? American or worldwide?

I love Turnstile, but I think they’re capped at subbing major festivals. Sleep Token who everyone’s voting for are on the fast track to headlining Danny Wimmer fests in the not too distant future.
Sleep Token may be terrible, but they're not the right choice here.
I think the metal bands are the first to go here.
You're probably right, but I don't think Turnstile and Sleep Token have peaked yet commercially (especially not the latter). Some of the others have probably peaked.
surprised at the votes for Mitski, shes selling out arenas or the equivalent of arenas in much of the US. 2 nights sold out at MPP with the 3rd at like 80% sold

Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, ACL
ok yea I’ll move off Mitski and onto sleep token lol
