Meg & Nas have already been 2s on Roo, I’d say there’s a very clear path (release one more acclaimed album). Meg easily could’ve headlined over Fred this year.

I don't think Gizz is that inconceivable. They already headline smaller fests and sub some bigger fets. They have a rabid fanbase that's willing to fly internationally to see them. They're playing amphitheaters on this tour and they put out enough music that if just a couple of songs get the right airwaves, I could see them getting there.

Is Renee Rapp niche? What’s the niche? Genuinely curious - I listened to a bunch of her stuff when the GovBall lineup dropped and it sounded like mainstream pop to me.

Cardi fell off because she hasn’t put out an album in 6 years now.
Meg is comfortably ahead of Fred Again.. on streaming stats. Probably the billing was due to the US exclusive they got on Fred. But I also thought Paramore should headline over Odesza, so what do I know?
Little context for this one, I'm asking who will be the Foo Fighters, RHCP, Kendrick, Billie Eilish, etc in five or ten years. Obviously a few of these will headline soon, but who can keep their momentum going to become our legacy headliners of the future? Who's at Lolla 2034?
If anything I think The xx will start getting lower with their billing

Kacey was in good position, but failed to capitalize by releasing a couple snoozer albums that nobody really wanted. Especially the most recent one. But she's still an arena act who seems primed for another bump with the right new music.

the most lucrative path to make money for Cardi/Rihanna is not touring and music, very well might be the case for Ice Spice as well

Not saying Turnstile should win but they seem well-connected than every other hardcore band (friends w Post and Duo apparently), have their own Converse collab, opened for blink. The path is there.
Batiste is 7ish albums and nearly 20 years into his career. Admittedly the Grammy win was good but I'm just having a hard time picturing Batiste hitting the main stage at Lolla at 9pm and cranking out some music that sounds like if you were to press play on a JBL display in a Best Buy.
Not saying Turnstile should win but they seem well-connected than every other hardcore band (friends w Post and Duo apparently), have their own Converse collab, opened for blink. The path is there.

i laughed at this then realized i have no idea what kind of music batiste is. i assumed big band stuff suitable for a late night show but with a dash of new orleans r&b, i'm listening to his latest record now and it sounds like tropical house or moombahton what is this. it's pretty cool though ngl. one of these songs is just a kenny g solo.

it would be beautiful to see dozens of thousands of people rocking out to Gizz Jams at the Coachella main stage but alas I think we’ll have to settle for them being Gen Z’s Phish

His Coachella sets were pretty fantastic. I will no doubt be in the pit for Roo. Standing in the back with my arms crossed, of course.

yeah if Turnstile leans a little harder into the approachable side of their sound, then has a radio hit, sky is the limit. Unlikely but far from impossible
