Going Billy. I think if you're able to breakthrough in such an old-timey, niche genre like bluegrass then you have a lot more staying power for the future. People who like that stuff probably aren't going to stop liking it in 10 years.
also voting Billy. initially i chose Noah, but then remembered this is ten years from now. gotta think about all the noah types we've had over the past 20 years: jack johnson, jason mraz, ray lamontange, ben harper, etc. even john mayer to an extent. they may rise to headliner status or get close to it, but eventually they settle down into playing theaters. in just 3-4 years we'll probably have some new noah kahan coming around the bend.
feel like billy is super talented, has pretty broad appeal, and a good head on his shoulders, i.e. i don't think he'll fuck this up with drugs and partying. he has a steady headliner energy.
the same stuff i said about noah also applies to olivia. it's the rare pop artist that breaks out as a headliner and maintains that long term. taylor swift, beyonce, madonna. rodrigo might pull it off, but historically the odds are against her.
Several of my friends went to Europe last fall while Billy was on the Euro leg of his last tour. They told me that large portions of the crowd at the shows they went to were American fans who traveled there specifically for Billy. Seems like a pretty dedicated fanbase.

I’ve only seen him once at a non-festival show (over in New Orleans). I would bet half of that crowd travelled in to see him. I went with two people off the board who travelled to come down for it. There was also a traveling circus sideshow and shakedown street. I love bluegrass but it’s not a genre where I would have anticipated an act developing a Phish or Dead type of following even if on a smaller scale.
Whatever is next don’t bust out a cause of death survivor round until we talk about it. Hoping for state or ethnicity next round to get some blood pumping.
