If this does somehow end up in May I’d really like to see Alice In Chains fill one of the typical 90s rock slots. Just finishing up reading a biography and am now itching to see them again. Last time was at The Ryman in my profile pic. They’re already playing 2 fest weekends in May (Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville) so the timing fits.
I thought we all knew this wasn't going to be in May?

Wish list for crossover acts from Welcome to Rockville?
In 2024 we had Foo, QOTSA, Royal Blood, All Them Witches, Bad Nerves, Offspring, The Struts, Dead Poet Society. I think that's it.
This year I could see Green Day, Linkin Park, AIC, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, Sublime, Bush, Everclear, Lit, Candlebox, Bowling for Soup, Mastodon, Korn. Some are a stretch.

we had green day in 2022 so hope they're not back so soon... hoping for jimmy eat world, it's been a few years.

I saw Jimmy Eat World at SK back in 18 or so. Was at the Piedmont Park venue. Fine set, though it was hotter n Hell at time they played. Wouldn't mind seeing them again.

Nah, that's the NPU oversight committee. You want the NPU-M November meeting agenda which is not yet posted.
Yeah that's right. I think the website said it gets posted a week before the meeting which is today. I'll post it if I see it uploaded.
E: The NPU's by-laws say no later than 48hrs before the meeting so that'd be Saturday at 6:15pm. Can't find where I read a week prior now that I'm looking for it.
November agenda is up. No Shaky event application on there.
okay, so may is officially out. is that right?
I mean if you want to hold on to any shred of hope, there's still some weekends open in Piedmont Park. The NPU voting for Music Midtown seemed to come after they announced dates. But with no sign of a permit and Infinity saying it's not happening in May, I think it's a fall fest.

This is all really annoying though. If they've been planning a fall fest for months, they could've announced it at any time, even without specific dates.

Funny enough, of all months, May and September are the least ideal for my friend group lol. We're hoping for June, July or October.

Guess I'll have to stay patient.
if it's September, they could just take the usual Music Midtown dates. Would line up with MCR's dates really well too.
Once Robert Smith said they had some summer fest dates but then they decided not to tour until the fall, I was hoping this would align with Shaky. Tim Sweetwood gonna have a busy Sept/Oct with all the other fests he does.

A simple "We are looking at new dates/location. Be on the lookout for news in early 2025" would have saved everyone some time.

1000%. It's so frustrating in my case when my friends and I are literally between Roo and Shaky (if any) for next year and we're waiting on lineups. Doubly so when one of those friends is a teacher and another is in Ecuador, lol.
Just a simple update would save everyone a lot of headache.
If we are indeed headed for a fall Shaky Knees, Tim Sweetwood is in for some hard truths regarding his target audience for this festival....
....unless he sees an opportunity to make this de facto Music Midtown.... ..... headliners the likes of.... Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, etc.....

If they are moving to Fall, it would make sense to take the 'VoodooFest' slot, as that one is never coming back (it appears). Thus as close to Halloween as possible.

Was mentioned in another thread but Pearl Jam is rumored to play Lovin Life in Charlotte May 2-4.
I read through the PJ forum and another guy (with 11 total comments) said they Atlanta is late April and that they had holds on 2 venues and he really doesn't hope it's one of them. He said they were playing State Farm then walked it back.
Something kinda odd is that the dates he posted (4/29-30) are back to back nights which they don't really do any more. Either way seems the ATL isn't locked down and they're in the area typical SK weekend.
In 2016, PJ was gonna play Bridgestone and then last second switched to Bonnaroo. Apparently, the band has a knack for late announcements, not committing to plans, etc.
