The Thursday date they're including in the announcement might just be the kickoff parties at other venues.
But theres shows on Weds too and thats not being counted.
I think it could just be an artist thats big enough to warrant the date and theyll do the main stage and 3 other bands. So you could start things at 5pm and its done by 10. Has to be due to availability.

This is great! 4 full days of Kilby is too much but a half day w/ a very special headliner is awesome. I do hope they use the rodeo stage like they originally proposed last year.

For fun and speculation, I'm going to ask a simple question: do we think a Rilo Kiley reunion is possible?
In 2019, Jenny Lewis said she'd be open to a reunion. In 2021, she and Blake performed Let Me Back In on a livestream together for charity, one of only two times they're performed a song together since they broke up (the other was Coachella 2015). In summer 2023, she gave another interview saying she thinks they owe it to each other to play Rilo Kiley songs together again. From late 2023 - now, she has been on tour with The Postal Service who just played Kilby Block Party. Rilo Kiley also played Kilby Court in the early 00s. If S&S knows what they're doing (and I think they do), they should have tested the waters with an offer!
I think, if available, Rilo Kiley also hits on the "headliner so good we couldn't pass up" remark.
