I voted peas simply bc I've never had something that I felt peas made the dish/drink. Looking down the list, I can think of that for pretty much every other thing on the list.
I buy peas for tikka masala but it’s just to green it up at the end. It’s not necessary at all and easily replaceable. I’ll throw it into veggie soup too. Pretty forgettable.
Celery is part of the stock of so much. Can’t vote for it yet.
Finding out the trinity is boring . 2 of the 3 elements have been called out for being boring.
yeah but you cook them. you cook them and they are the flavor base of an entire dish. it's like saying salt is boring, sure it is but nobody is cooking anything without salt.
like we all agree onions rule, but nobody is taking a big bite out of a whole raw onion, if you do that they put you in jail for future crimes.
the smell of sauteeing onions, peppers, and celery is better than the taste of most foods.

this will be hard because I genuinely like all of these. not a big fan of 'green peas' (tbh not a big fan of stews/shepherds pie/meat and potato and pea type meals).
celery is good raw with some peanut butter or cream cheese and such an important recipe beginning for so many styles of food. legit the trinity or a mire poix cooking in butter is one of the best smells.

i sent this list to my wife and her vote for this round is asparagus. figured you'd all want to know. maybe she can be the tie breaker if we have a tie.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

i dont love green peas but chickpeas, black eyed peas, and pigeon peas are all great
Those are all beans (99% sure). However for beans we got “green beans” and not beans. Had it only been beans they would probably last until the final few - red beans black beans white beans butter beans black eyed peas wax beans pinto beans pit beans….

My wife’s vote is cauliflower or eggplant.
Technically speaking, her vote should count instead of yours.
this might genuinely be the strongest 20 19 options of any survivor ever.
fuck eggplant and the bitch it came with
Why? Eggplant is great. It doesn’t take long for salt to pull out the astringency. I want that (and asparagus) over cauliflower or broccoli in my vegetable tempura. Eggplant parm rules. Grilled eggplant is great. Moussaka. Baba ghanouch (sp?). Stuffed. Ratatouille.

I have no problem with peas, but something has to go first. Lots of great dishes with peas, but they're probably used more for color than everything else on list.
I'm not reading three pages of dumb opinions. But asparagus being hated on is something I never expected.
Celery raw, by itself is gross. I'd argue carrots, which taste like dirt, are worse, but I don't want to waste my vote when y'all are hating on eggplant and asparagus. Inforoo really does have horrible tastes. This is going to be terrible.
Peas are most children’s introduction to vegetables. I understand they can be gross if out of the can and overcooked. No one should want to eat that. But fresh peas are good. Pot pies, primaveras, paellas. I agree with (what’s your) problem dog that they are pretty innocent. But they also taste better than any of the sulfur vegetables.

About 15 years ago I wouldn’t have been able to participate in this because I didn’t eat most of these things. Peas have always been one of the things I would eat.
