Had an incredibly important realization tonight: nobody's made a playlist for all the songs we've voted on here. So here's one featuring the top 10s of every artist we've voted on so far (except Neil Young RIP):
Had another realization: we've voted on far too few women in these polls, so my next nomination is Gwen Stefani/No Doubt.

Definitely dont disagree about the number of women nominated, but if you'll check the OP there is an existing playlist already that I update weekly. I truly appreciate the effort though!
I don't know enough Mountain Goats to make a top 10, but This Year was a revelation when I first heard it. This has encouraged me to listen to more MG's though!
I nominate Regina Spektor to increase our female representation.

why not nominate a woman who will actually get some participation going? Rihanna or Beyonce or something?

I will when it comes back to me, I'm just saying rummy is probably the only one who can even name ten Regina songs without looking it up
I can't name 10 Beyonce or Rihanna songs without looking them up. So...different strokes.
Edit: for the record, I don't care if we don't do Regina. If there's not enough popularity, fine. But there are plenty of weeks where I don't know enough about the artist to do an adequate top 10, so I just come back next week.

I’m not the onlyyyy one in here but yeah probably one of just a handful.
But also, folks should absolutely check out her first 3-4 albums (including the self released debut) if they haven’t before. My top 10 would likely be comprised of just 11:11, Songs, Soviet Kitsch and Begin to Hope tracks anyway — she falls off after that IMO.
Nothing wrong with having to give albums a listen to come up with a top ten Though. We’re all music nerds here — yay for new discoveries right?

I would've assumed almost everyone would have had something to contribute for Bjork, but she only had 6 submissions while Florence + the Machine had 7 a few weeks ago. Beyond a couple surefire ones, don't really think there's a way to predict how much response an act will get for something like this. And honestly, I'm more than fine with leaving some of the heavy hitters like Beyonce or Rihanna for later on since then it's less likely people fall off from contributing entirely since we're only doing smaller acts!
Also, if you don't know any Regina Spektor (only know a few songs on Begin to Hope myself), you fortunately have until the middle of June to get caught up if you'd like to submit a list

shit I need to get my Bjork list in -- I'm bad at going back and doing ones I've missed, clearly

Obviously I'd encourage folks to submit the week an act is up when possible, but also don't really mind at all if people want to go back and submit for artists we've already done either. More the merrier!

I had to pick just ten???
Fuck, alright fine. After listening to more or less all of their albums, I've come to the conclusion that I have a pretty clear 1-7 and about 50 songs fighting for those last 3 spots. And I hesitate to say this escapade made me a fan of the band. But man, some of their songs are ace.
1. This Year 2. The Autopsy Garland 3. Neon Orange Glimmer Song 4. Love Love Love 5. No Children 6. Source Decay 7. The Diaz Brothers 8. Shelved 9. Animal Mask 10. Moon Over Goldsboro

Confession time: I don't love Led Zeppelin in a general sense. I mean, there are a bunch of songs of theirs I like, a handful I really love, and I recognize their importance and that they are, generally speaking, a Great Band. But I would rarely, given the choice, just throw on some Zeppelin.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
