Anyone ever get a refund or any help from StubHub BEFORE tickets failed to arrive on time?
I'm curious because because of a crappy situation we're in, which isn't my first with them, although it will absolutely be the last.
On Sunday, my friend's daughter's friend said she'd been working as much as she could to buy a Bonnaroo ticket but she didn't have access to a credit card. So of course I bought her a ticket online in exchange for cash, using Stubhub because she's a broke 16 year old. As of an hour ago, they claimed not to be in possession of the ticket yet (despite selling it to me 4 days ago), didn't know when they'd get it, couldn't tell me who the seller was, and could not contact them. But somehow they list the expected arrival time as 11:58AM on Thursday 6/13.
That's obvious a problem for anyone who doesn't live in Manchester, TN, and we're leaving Monday night to get there on Tuesday. They patently refused to offer a refund, and said they will not unless the ticket (which they also clearly state to be a paper ticket, although those do not exist) does not arrive by Thursday, which is beyond ridiculous. The customer service rep I spoke to for 30 minutes gave only canned answers, refused to pass me to a supervisor or anyone else, said a refund was impossible, and I had no recourse until after Thursday. I started out very nice but after 20 minutes I mentioned the large class action pending against Stubhub, threatened to take legal action and work with the attorneys general of my state, TN, and wherever Stubhub is based, and enlist the FTC, etc., which was just answered with the same, "I understand you'd like your tickets sooner, but..." I also sent a demand letter via email, laying out precisely what they had done that was fraudulent and how they had acted in bad faith, and that the only acceptable resolution was an immediate refund or delivery of the ticket by this Saturday.
My bank gave me a temporary refund immediately, pending their investigation, and I'm not as broke as a 15 year old, so I'll get her a will call ticket, but this all just seems crazy. Anyone have better luck dealing with them?
no. quack stubhub. worse fees than TM and terrible customer service. I once bought a ticket to roger waters on stubhub. I input my shipping address, cc info, etc. and thought things were good. Then i realize I had an old, address saved on my account in the system and that's where they were sending the ticket. I realized this almost immeidately when I got the confirmation email and gave them a call, maybe 30 minutes after i'd bought the ticket. spent forever on the phone with some rep, gave them the same cc info etc to prove my identity, but they wouldn't change the shipping address or refund my money. I got my cc to eventually refund the money (thanks, american express) but that was a hassle.
if you're gonna go the will call route, it may be worth it to just wait til you get to manchester and try to grab one from the wal mart parking lot or arrange to buy one in person via facebook or reddit or something. gonna be much cheaper than the official route. tix are dropping into the $200-250 range.

Yeah, thanks. Is there any chance of a sellout? I'm thinking will call is the best option now, since we're afraid of getting scammed otherwise, especially after this.
After my fiasco on the phone, my friend went Karen and talked to someone else. They basically told her half of what I was told was BS, and they contacted the seller, which they supposedly couldn't do. Then the rep checked the tracking number and UPS was reporting that it would be delivered by 4;45. Of course StubHub never updated. Then UPS never came, tracking hasn't updated details since Wednesday night, and they can't tell me anything else. So it may actually come today but I have no clue at this point.
That really sucks. I avoid SH and TM if at all possible. The absolute best for this sort of thing is cash or trade.com. I know that doesnt help the situation now, but keep in mind for the future

A bunch of our friends typically buy them at the shell station in Manchester. That dude is usually like $200-250 depending but could be more if it was to sell out (which I don't think it will officially even if they say it did). You know you're not getting scammed if you can register the wristband. One time they got 5 of them but E was passed out and refused to wake up to test his out only to find out that one was f'd up for whatever reason. At that point he was f'd and had to shell out for another ticket which he did. But not being grouchy and just registering it at purchase could have saved him another $300.

I purchased Wilco tickets for an ACL after show once from Stubhub. I got to Stubbs and wasn’t allowed entry. I called Stubhub and was told the seller had sold the same tickets to multiple people. Normally they would get into the show they said but it was a sold out show. They refunded my ticket and fees and gave me $25 extra credit for a future Stubhub purchase for the cab fare. I haven’t used Stubhub since but maybe they can honor your purchase once she got to the festival with a receipt.

I rarely use Stubhub especially now that the fees are so outrageous, but I did get a $650 settlement from them as part of a class action, so I've been using my credits for a few shows here and there. I know this isn't helpful for the topic at hand, but just wanted to chime in anyway.I try to only get the digital transfer solutions since those seem a lot safer. I've only purchased something that required shipping a physical pass once and it was very nerve wracking for sure.

So UPS finally admitted that they'd mis-sorted the package and it is supposedly still in Houston now even though it had been listed as being in Columbus, OH on Wednesday. No delivery date update yet, but I'm really doubting it will make it here by Monday. They're not responding to my email or our text thread today. I was actually hoping it was lost forever or at least until Thursday, because stupid Stubhub won't issue a refund if they deliver by then, which is obviously way too late. Looking like the two really combined to screw us out of $450.
Now I'm sort of thinking I'll give the girl my wristband and take a chance on a local cash purchase to mitigate the loss. That make me super nervous, but as long as I can register it right then it should be fine, right? And if that fails I should still be able to order a will call ticket, assuming we don't have a sellout, no? esteban, is that the gas station right off the freeway and near the West entrance and the winery?
