What’s up with the pit thing? Never been to Bonnaroo but there’s like 100 people in the pit for Carly Rae Jepsen and a huge gap before the rest of the crowd. Is that VIP or or do people not want to go into the pit?
It depends on the show. Daytime is fairly easy but you can usually get rail or close enough. No bars or bathrooms so you have to be ready. Sometimes if it’s packed and you leave you can’t get back in. Maybe there was another one but I saw Brittany Howard and then set 2 of Thursday PL and got rail on the left inside the screens.

I did pit for 49 Winchester, Gary Clark Jr., Maggie Rogers, Jon Batiste (you already know), Carly Rae Jepsen, and Jason Isbell.
My kids are getting a kick out of watching me clap my hands and bob my head throughout the Batiste set on YouTube.

Yeah. All I could do was blow you kisses to send that love unless that’s when we were separated at Brittany. This set 1 is great and set the table. Going smoke setbreak and shatter some windows for that PL set 2 afterwards. Up to Tricky. \m/
Lots of emotion went into his performance and it paid off. I was expecting to be underwhelmed after watching Coachella and seeing what he did at Jazz Fest. But this was him and his core band. I gave it 7, but if I’d go out to 15, I saw that many shows that were at least very good, great or excellent. Not my Bonnaroo lineup but if I can get that many quality shows I’m good.
It took 5-10 minutes for the crowd to get pulled in then it was on.
