It's weird and sucks that Yves has a bad live reputation based largely on secondhand lip synch rumors. If you saw this set and thought it was trash, I can't really argue with that, but I love their music and really enjoyed the show I saw.

It was their rock band. Set was good. I've seen Yves 3 different ways. This was for sure the most rock and roll version and less abstract than the other couple times. They seem happy with what's being put out there. As for the shows that were better and not yet on the list, both Pretty Lights sets, Key Glock, Greensky Bluegrass, GWAR, Mdou Moctar, Brittany Howard, Joey Bada$$ and Kruangbin.
Comments from/on that day showing that at least for me, the lineup ended up much, much deeper than it looked on paper, and there were more shows that were on the good side of the proverbial needle.
Immediately after:
Went to a dope Yves set and ran into :bigbow: Jaz and Manders there.
Recap next day:
Yves Tumor - Entertaining show. It was pretty rocked up. It wasn’t super technical (did have some moments) but it sounded good. I’ve seen them a couple x but I don’t otherwise listen to or follow Yves. This band/incarnation had some early 80’s new wave parts along with the glam-ish style of what they’re doing. First when I got there Jaz and Manders saw me and called me over which ruled. Jaz was happy at that show and pretty much everyone else too. I think I ran into manders more than anyone this weekend which is not bad at all as anyone who knows that motherquacker will tell you.

Nox2 no no and no. Most of that stuff is up on YouTube except GSBG. Yves wasn’t top 15 for me but I still dug it a lot. My only knock on it is that much of the music this YT band is playing is on the simplistic side which I’m generally not looking for. Musicianship was decent (guitar and drummer probably the best), but it came across to me that they left some stuff on the table pursuing certain stylistic endeavors such as the new wave and hard rock elements.

I’ve seen Yves three times and they haven’t lip synched once that I’ve noticed. Definitely didn’t at Bonnaroo. They are sloppy and just cut some of the bullshit they do onstage out to improve the show but they’re still good live.
