It's because although the formats are the same, the survivors aren't coming from the same place. Buttrock survivor was driven solely by opinions. In this case, it's a mix of experience and opinions. We established early (with Jon Batiste as Dad Dog pointed out) that those who attended and participated in the Top 10 thread expressed opinions that don't track with the results here. It will be the same if Pretty Lights Thursday is on the list and ends up as like 16 or 18 when it was a runaway #1 in the attendees thread.
There's really no way to make these two blind survivors similar unless if say attendees or non-attendees were excluded. The attendees had their say and did not come to the same conclusions. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. But for argument sake, who are we going to trust more - people with opinions or people with experience to back up the opinions. I guessed that would be the case here where groupthink would take precedence over the actual experience. That's what happened. That's no knock on anyone who went and came to the same or close to the same opinion on these sets as they have been voted in survivor. It's entirely possible that they could have had a similar outcome. But it was kind of doomed as a survivor from the start because it was never going to reflect reality of what was.
