As an Ohioan, Ohio is as mid as it gets. It doesn’t suck. It’s actually pretty underrated as a place to live. But there is nothing amazing about it and it isn’t somewhere I’d go as a tourist destination.

There’s something charming about the way Ohio people complain about it. It seems like I want to be friends with people from there that have suffered and complain a lot. I hear columbus is sick.

Idk Im thinking 13 but could be swayed easily.
Columbus > Cinci > Cleveland
Columbus is actually fun as hell. I didn’t appreciate it till I left. But in saying that, when I go back to visit it’s only to see family/friends. And I haven’t gone back on my last 2 visits home. Not a bad place to end up, but wouldn’t seek it out. It’s a place you just kinda land. But no one is like “man, I really want to move to Ohio”.

Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Greatest place on Earth. Three good cities with affordable living, while Lake Erie isn't the cleanest of lakes it is great in the summer, Cedar Point, lots of sports teams, good music and arts, only non-rectangular flag, leaders of the Union in the Civil War, aviators and astronauts.

Ohio is right in the middle of the pack. I love Cincinnati, and Columbus, Cleveland, and Yellow Springs are pretty solid. There is definitely some natural beauty - Hocking Hills, John Bryan State Park, etc. Great amusement parks in Kings Island and Cedar Point. Most of the spaces in between suck, though. I think 11 is perfectly fair.

They’re all moving to SC. They’ve already taken over the beaches.

Beer bellies and cheesy mustaches? Pwnd.
I like Ohio and never had a bad time there. Like Buffalo, Cleveland is underrated. But not in the middle of winter

Most summers as a teenager I worked at a grocery store about a mile from Isle of Palms and when ringing up customers we'd have to ask where they were from, as a means of friendly customer service. It wouldn't be a stretch to say 3 out of 5 were from Ohio.

As someone who lives in the bad part of the state. I would say 13 is too high. Columbus is cool, I've never really been to Cinci other than driving through it, as its like 4 hr drive from me. Cleveland stinks. It drives me nuts that they have an amazing great lakes coastline that is severely underutilized. The state government is some of the most corrupt around. I voted 16.

Looks like 13 is running away with it. I’ve been on 17.

That would suggest that there are only 10 states worse than Ohio, which is just ridiculous. You should go to the good parts more.

Also this state definitely still has the most faux MMA chuds wearing Affliction T-shirts 10 years past when they would have been considered even remotely fashionable. It also says something that all of the big butt rock festivals seem to end up in Columbus.

Yes I am saying this. At most I would say there are 15 worse. Everything is subjective, but I would rate AL, MS, AR, IA, IN, ND, SD, KS, NE, OK, and VA (I hate this state), objectively worse. There would be four or so states that I could hear arguments about, but even a state like WV which is objectively worse economically, politically etc, you could argue it is way more beautiful and better for outdoor tourism.

WTF is an Affliction t-shirt?? You've already said you haven't been to the best city in the state. I don't think Steubenville is the best gauge of what people in Ohio wear.
We do get those buttrock festivals, but there are also some niche jam/EDM fests (which I also have no interest in, but many here would enjoy).

OK. Steubenville is terrible. Duly noted. Southwest Ohio is pretty great.

I attend these niche jam festivals. Legend Valley/Nelsons Ledges kicks ass. I will say that I am geographically biased because if I want to do something fun, I tend to just go to Pittsburgh. But I don't know you are not gonna convince me to move off of my 16.

excited to watch you cope and seethe when Virginia ends up top 6

One of Ohio's strengths is its proximity to other states. If a tour I'm interested in does not pass through Cincinnati, I'm within 100 miles or so of Lexington, Louisville, and Indianapolis (also Columbus), so I can fairly easily catch them in one of those places. Just like your Pittsburgh. I'm sorry your town itself sucks. You shouldn't hold it against the rest of the state. Every state has towns that suck (except Hawaii).
