I’m on 4, leaving room for Colorado and New York.
If Florida had a mountain up top and a real Fall season, it would probably be #2. It also took forever to get sports betting which was insane.
Its crazy I was just thinking about how many different ways Florida is culturally relevant and then remembered that it has the redneck super bowl, the Daytona 500. Like how didn’t Arkansas or Mississippi at the very least snag that?
Theme parks for when you are a kid. Well I guess for adults too. Its the place seniors dream of retiring, for good reason. Miami does Miami things. Best state for golf. 9 pro sports teams not counting MLS. The Keys would be like the #2 draw of like 40 states. Really cute, old towns like St Aug and Fernindina. Its an information overload trying to think of all the good shit down here in Desantis Land.

The politics suck, and from what I gather, much of the state sucks, but I always have a nice time when I’m there. I don’t have much bad to say about Disney World (other than the price and the crowds), Palm Beach (other than some of its residents), or Amelia Island. It’s a nice place to visit.

big fan of Florida's influencer scene and great strip clubs. Had a great time when I went for Rolling Loud. I've traveled a lot around the U.S and Miami is truly the most ignorant place I've ever been too (in a fun way)
can’t seperate the politics from the state, especially as a queer person. it would be higher with if it were dem run but for that reason it’s a 17 for me

Imma vote 8
I also voted 8. Home is on the panhandle. Once driving to Crestview an idiot with an I’m With Q license plate was in front of me. I also saw a chump with a truck with a long Q message on the back window and I shook my head at him and he got triggered. I avoid influencers so I don’t know shit about them. We have fresh seafood and in Pensacola and 30-A as well there are people who can cook it unlike say Panama City. Plenty of good and plenty of bad here.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

It feels like 95% of Florida is fake. Sure you got St Augustine and Key West. And far more Golden Corrals and subdivisions where your racist auntie and uncles moved to.
Orlando sucks. It's overcrowded, expensive, overrated. And I-4 is the goddamn worst.
My evangelical whack job aunt and her family live near Crestview. I imagine this is what Mississippi is like.
Have you been to The Villages? It's sprawling subdivisions run by fascist sympathizers. And everyone's racist grandparents live there.
Just feels like all the shitty people moved to Florida, or want to.
Sure the weather is fine in January. And then you want to die in August. Just wait for the hurricanes to come and sweep you out to sea.

Making everything in these about politics is so tedious lol. It's America. People have shitty politics in every state. Go to rural California or Orange County or Malibu and see if you love the people you meet.
Have no love for Florida. I feel like when the politics are as bad as they are they can't be ignored. No bigger despot in this country than Desantis. Two of the worst shootings in the last ten years with Pulse and Parkland.
1300 miles of coastland is pretty unique though. 175 state parks. Too bad Desantis and his cronies are trying to build golf courses and hotels on them.
I'm in the Florida sucks camp. 17 seems too low though. At least with politics they can be redeemed, even if it seems unlikely. Some places suck no matter who is in office. Going 14.
Cities I like in Florida that I’ve been to - Pensacola, Destin, all of 30A, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Miami, Cocoa Beach, Gainesville, Clearwater, Orlando, St. Augustine
Cities with some redeeming qualities I’ve been to - Ft. Walton, Panama City Beach, Apalachicola, Tampa, Daytona Beach, Ocala, Sarasota, Bradenton, Perdido Key
I don’t like - Lake City, Perry, Macclenny, Cantonment, Century, Milton, Quincy,
Still need to go to - Palm Beach. Naples, Fort Myers/Cape Coral, Key West (and the other keys), Anna Maria Island, Steinhatchee, Venice, Sanibel/Captiva (and the 10000 islands)

I think 17 is too low, even if you hate the politics. But you top 4 voters are going to have to come down to something in the middle if you want any chance of saving it.
