hey guys have you heard of this hot up and coming rapper named Missy Elliott before? No pressure to check her out or anything but her new live show was one of my favorites of the year:
btw at Riot Fest this year GEL was my fav hardcore band I saw. on a main stage they have enough charisma, up close and personal in the Sonora it's gonna be a lot more fun.
The Go-Go's are an absolute classic all-women 80's rock band that I guarantee you have heard somewhere in your life (most likely in literally any 80's-placed teen or romantic movie). If you had even a moderate amount of fun seeing Blondie a couple of years ago, you'll enjoy the hell out of the Go-Go's

I hate to be a naysayer (jk, love to be a naysayer) but I thought Missy was one of the most disappointing shows I’ve ever seen. I don’t usually get offended by lip syncing but this was extreme. There were huge parts of the show where Missy was just standing around vaguely pretending to sing while the dancers did their thing. At some points I’m 100% convinced it wasn’t even her out there, but some body double in a big hat.
Anyway, hopefully with the live stream cameras on her Coachella gets a slightly different show, but I think people should temper their expectations

Do you guys remember how after the Katy Perry Super Bowl halftime show when Missy came out as a guest, there was a large contingent of younger people that actually thought this

GEL was a good time when I saw them earlier this year as were SPEED when I saw them open for Knocked Loose. One of those shows where they had zero people in their merch line before their set and a huge line right after they played. Also, probably the only hardcore show you will see in 2025 with a flute solo.

Basement Jaxx are primarily an Electronic music duo from the UK dating back to the 90s. they are best known for "where's your head at" which you've probably heard in film and TV. they often come up in the same circles as Prodigy, and Chemical Brothers, and their live shows (really hoping they are live and nod DJ) consist of any genre you can imagine and feature a lot of different vocalists. no matter what this is gonna be a dance party for the ages!
here are what are probably their biggest tracks:
if this set is live, it will be the first live show in 10 years and they've already anounced that they have a group of vocalists ready to go. here's their live show from Glastonbury 2005 and you can get an idea of what to expect.
Thee Sacred Souls have been on the forefront of the rise of soul that has blown up recently. Their music is a perfect tribute to southern California chicano culture and will be a gorgeous daytime/sunset set.

copying my post from the main thread:
Kraftwerk are four old german dudes behind electronic gear all dressed the same. each one has a specific part they play, percussion(ish), melody(ish), countermelody(ish), and visuals(ish). mostly sequenced stuff with layers. they have screens behind then that usually play some cool videos. some are from musc videos and some are more waveform (ish), at one point they leave the stage and "the robots" come out. the animated robots play we are the robots while the old german dudes take a break. then the old german dudes come back and the real dance party starts.
if you wanna see the various sequenced layers fade away (AKA what are these guys doing up there), this gives you a rough idea.
(IPC mixing vinyl while smoking through an entire pack of cigs for an hour at Dekmantel, enough said.)
(the best exceeder remix.. to ME)
(the chill side of virji)
(my personal favorite off the brat remix album, thank you george daniel)
(one of the most anticipated chris stussy IDs from the past year, a real dancefloor heater)
(megan freestyling over one of the most iconic beats of the 2010s, big ups for team blasia)
(some of AG's best pop work outside of charli to me, recent J-Pop release from the girl group f5ve who's also backed by bloodpop, just an insanely fun song about gacha and aliens)
