Just found out my someone I know is bringing an RV, but he doesnt want to park in the RV parking. He isnt running a generator and he justs wants to camp w/ us. Is it ok for an RV not to park in the RV section?? Thanks.
From what I read, they have a seperate RV entrance line for RV's. I would guess if you show up in the GA line in an RV, they won't let you know (lots of acronyms eh?)
Besides, there's no electric hookups, so the generator would be used either way. I don't even think there's water hookups as they offer water fill and disposal services.
You know, you can pick up an RV pass and a companion vehicle pass. Just take your car load full of people right behind your friends RV. You can all camp in the RV section that way. You'll most definitely probably end up closer to Centeroo as well.
Huh....... I figured we'd be closer to Centeroo by just camping.....not in the RV section. I really dont remember where the RV section was last year. If we'd be closer to Centeroo w/ the RV section then it'd be stupid not to. Thanks!
Well, I guess it depends on when you get there. Some of the RV spots are right next to the VIP section.
If you were going to do tent only camping, then the RV spots will definitely be further away. However, based on the map I have from last year, I don't think it's possible to be further then 15 minutes outside of Centeroo in any of the RV sections.
You definately can't park in the general camping sections in an RV - at least not last year. You go through the same entrance but they seperate the RV's after the "tollbooth" and lead them to seperate campgrounds. If you have a companion vehicle pass, you can have the regular car parked in a special lot next to the RV lots - I think you have to arrive together. In my experience the RV spots are generally farther away then most of the regular camping. There's definately some regular campgrounds that are farther, and some of the RV spots aren't too far, but last year we got there early Thurs morning in an RV and were a good 20-30 minutes from Centeroo. I think it depends a lot on which entrance you take and what time you get there.
Thanks......we might just try to get there really early, but I think that'll mess up some people planning to work halfdays on thurs. I cannot remember where we were last year, but it took us about 15min to get to Centeroo. I saw a couple of RV's parked right next to the side entrance into Centeroo........how the hell do ya get that space?? It's probably stay congested in that area, but I dont care.
Beginning last year they completely stopped RV parking in the general camping area. They have a specific area for RV's. You can also bring your companion vehicle into the RV section.
They WILL NOT allow you to park an RV in the general camping. That's for sure!
From what I can tell, if you have an RV, you want to enter through Bushy Branch. Each entrance has it's own RV section if you look at the map from last year. The Bushy Branch RV areas are the ones right next to VIP camping and the closest to Centeroo.
My group is planning on being at Bushy Branch brignt and early on Thursday morning in hopes of securing one of the closest RV spots.
Yeah I think we are going to take I-24 all the way down to Hwy 55 and then take that back North a few miles. At that point, we are going to take some of the back roads down to Bushy Branch and approach the site from the East instead of the West.
You can keep an eye out for our RV once you get parked. Ours will be the rental with a Guiness Flag strapped to it somewhere.
Oh man I suck at directions.....I've done my part! Their happy asses can find out how to get there.....I'm gonna be sleepying in the back of the RV hopefully. I'll email them your post though...thanks again!
