Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
There seems to be several best practices suggestions on how to circumvent potential prohibitions on alcohol, on avoiding glass, etc. But I have seen no reference to the actual policy, being a first timer to Bonnaroo (but long time festival attendee both in US & Europe) I want to know what the rule actually is.
Is personally brought alcohol (spirits) and beer allowed into the festival area (versus the camping area) as long as it's not in a glass container? If you buy beer from the official vendors are you restricted to some particular area, or can you roam around the festival site to all the stages etc. I understand there are ways around the rules, but I'm just trying to establish what the actual rules are. Will I get grief if I bring unopened plastic bottles of hard alcohol? Can I use it openly? Any word on the official festival policy would be appreciated, thus work arounds if necessary can be considered. Thanks.

You can't bring your own alcohol in to Centeroo (the festival area), only factory-sealed water. People who buy beer inside Centeroo, say at a beer tent or something, can walk anywhere with their beer, stages, back to the campground, no limitations there. They won't have a problem with you bringing hard alcohols in to the camground, so long as they are in a plastic bottle (it probably doesn't need to be factory sealed either).
It would be kinda cool if they could let everyone in to Centeroo with their own alcohol.

Think about how much drunker everyone would be if they let booze in centeroo. More puking and sloppy hook-ups. The hook-up/throw-up factor would be in full effect!
i love grey goose (vodka)and lemonade. my secret is to carefully remove a cap from a water bottle so the breakaway seal thing dosent seperate from the cap. then empty the water and fill with a clear liquor. carefully put the cap back on and stick it amongst several other sealed bottles of water and your good to go. i bring powdered lemonade and kool-aid mix to mix with the water and your all set.

I stuck my booze in a backpack underneath about 10 bottles of factory sealed water. The guy inspecting it just assumed it was all water. The bag was heavy tho.
I have devised a plan that worked out well last year. Take an empty bottle of sunblock and clean it thoroughly and I do mean thoroughly. Stick alcohol in there, twist cap back on. Everyone needs sunscreen right? Plus you can squirt it staright into your moth, which is kind of fun.

hey, that's a good tip. ive been keen on lemon rum with lemonade - i never thought of getting the powdered stuff! probably tastes like shit though... but since im flying, i can easily replace a bottle of water with rum.

Just like college football games, a ziplock bag taped to your inner thigh,
Haha in college one of my roommates actually taped like 4 cans of beer around her ankles under big bell-bottomed jeans to smuggle them onto the bus for one of our senior week events. I never tried the ziplock bag of alcohol though, that seems like it would be a lot more convenient, but probably far less humorous.
