my travel plans have been changed at the last minute, and i will be flying into nashville and taking the shuttle alone instead of arriving by car with others, so this leaves me with a few questions that i have to scramble for in a short period of time. any help/input is greatly appreciated
-is bonnaroo a safe place for a chick to go it alone? it seems like it is for sure, but i've never been, so not 100% sure
-how far away does the airport shuttle drop you from the tent only campground? trying to decide how much stuff i can bring with me based on this, and if i need to bring a large pack or if i can just lug a duffle or something (if someone could make reference to a map somehow, i'll name my first born after you)
-water? if huffing it in without a car, should i even bother trying to carry water in? or is if feasible to get enough water (not the stinky kind) pretty easily at roo?
i think that's all for now, i may come up with something random later...
man - that sucks that your travel plans changed at the last minute - just wanted to tell you that - I am a first timer also so I have no idea about the safety issue - but would have to think with all I read on here that it will be ok
i have been twice and safety wont be an issue. i wouldnt worry about that at all. you can find water in the campground area pretyy cheap. most of the shakedown street vendors have coolers full of water/pop/juice for 1 to 2 dollars a bottle. a little more then the store but not as bad at roo prices. avoid the general store at all costs. they rip ya off pretty bad there. like 6 - 8 dollars for a gallon of water. we have one person on the fence of going and if he makes it we will be bringing another car and it will have extra room. if so ill throw a bunch of water in there for anyone flying in and drop it off at leos inforoo camp
saftey isn't really an issue, you'll be fine on that end.. I'm bringing tons of water, so if you need some, try and find me (easier said than done, I know ), or I'll do what dude is doing and send some of my water over to the infroo campsite for anyone who needs it, because I know my friend and I won't be drinking all of it.
don't worry about it at all... i'm going solo too this year, after going with a big group last year i realized it will be totally safe... actually I'm gonna PM you so check that

Just wanted to say hi. ;D I've been lurking in the shadows of this forum for about a month, but this is my first post. I'm also a female Bonnaroo newbie, who is mildly concerned about the water and safety issues (This is also my first music festival in general).
I will also be flying out solo and taking the shuttle due to last minute change in plans. (I think I arrive in Nashville around 4:30pm on Thursday) I "know" a group that I might meet up with once there, but I don't know how likely that is to happen since they are driving in and probably plan on camping by their car (I have recently become friends with the lone female of the group, one of the guys is barely an acquantance, and I don't know the rest of the group at all so I am not sure whether I can rely on meeting up with them or not). Has anyone here ever taken the shuttle and actually managed to meet up with people who drove in and gotten to camp by them? I get the vibe that this might be kind of hard to pull off since I am not arriving until late afternoon/early evening.
Anyhow, that was my long winded way of saying I would like to try to meet up regardless of where I end up setting up camp. I'm not familiar with how this site works, but feel free to send me a PM back.

i just had 2 people bail lie 10 minutes ago. bastards! but i will definetly have room for xtra water. ill be bringing it to leos inforoo camping only area for those who are flying in and cant brign water.
ya. a bunch of crap abotu having to work. its not like they didnt know about this for the last 6 months. i kinda figured it would happen. we always start off with like 15 people going and then when it comes time it a couple of people. usually the ones who have been before and know how sacred it is
lol.. I totally relate to the "15 at first, only 2 now" sentiment..
I was hassling all of my friends to buy a ticket and at first llike 10 people wanted to go, and I was psyched for the group i had coming, slowly but surly, that number dwindled down to me and my buddy, who I convinced to go by buying his ticket for him..he's paying me back come wednesday... this is his parent's college graduation present to him, and they're giving me the money right before we leave, which is cool, because then I'll be garunteed at least 200 dollars for spending cash even if I have to use my other saved money for anything else (I hope not, but you know how those things go )

Yea it's amusing to me how many people are all about going and then use the work excuse to bail when it is actually getting close to festival time. I'm definitely in the same situation, which is why I am flying out solo.
The way I look at it, anyone who bails last minute because of work is probably someone I wouldn't have a great time with at the festival anyway. If they can't plan early enough to take off work for so much awesome music, then they probably aren't that into the bands and would spend more time at the festival bitching (about the whether, lack of showers, etc.) than enjoying the experience. Plus, going without a huge group increases my chances of getting to know some new people, which I am definitely looking forward too!

Speaking of spending money, about how much cash would you guys recommend bringing? I don't like the idea of waiting in long lines for the ATMs, so I plan to try to bring enough money to last the entire festival. Keep in mind, I'm flying in, so I'll only be able to bring a minimal amount of food with me and I will probably have to buy all my beer there (that is unless there's some way to talk the shuttle into making a beer run on the way).

it depends on what your planning on spending your money on. im going to bring a couple hundo for sure. i would rather have MORE money than not enough. but im an overplanner

My group has gone from 6 originally to 2. I'm traveling alone and meeting a buddy from Boston who is also traveling alone. As far as I'm concerned, the Inforoo group sounds like a great way to meet people to party with throughout the weekend, so I'm not too concerned about the fact that my individual group's numbers have dwindled.

oooh oooh can you count me in for a case please! i've got one coming already, but i'm kinda a water nut and there are 4 of us girls camping together now (i think) so i want to be sure we've got plenty at non-rip-off prices. let me know, i'll have cash or other goods to exchange for the water when you come by ;D
