yeah the lines were massive... i wanted to go last year but there was just too much other stuff going on to wait. i absolutely friggin love lewis black though so there is no way i'm missing him. my goal this year is to get into the first show on thursday (the demitri martin and other various comics show), hoping that lots of people won't be there yet, or will be seeing bands, or just not be in centeroo yet... and then the last show sunday night (lewis black) hoping that lots of people leave sunday as usual so it won't be as crowded. we'll see if the strategy works or not
Last year we waited in line for the first Charlie Murphy show on fri for about 20mins......only to find out it was already past capacity so we had to wait for the 1st show to get over w/ then we had to wait for them to start the 2nd show (we did get front row though!). If you wanna see Lewis Black........get there early.
But also try for the late-night shows... I wandered into the tent and saw several comics last year just spur of the moment. Not headliners, but not bad.
i don't know why, but i hadn't even thought about lines or these tents filling up. i'm with you, tara, for that first show on thursday. and i was kinda psyched to see moe on sunday, but i may have to skip them and see lewis black if i don't get in on saturday.
The lines for any headliner (or for UCB) are amazingly long. I dropped the idea of catching any comedy other than the rare spur of the moment opportunity.
