This is fair warning to all those around me in line waiting to get into Bonnaroo. If it's a nice day out, I'll have the moon roof and all the windows open on my vehicle, and I hope to be playing a wide variety of albums from Bonnaroo 2006 artists during the wait. I have a pretty excellent sound system so those in my general vicinity can either laugh at me, or join me as I rock out in line. So if you see a 2005 Hyundai Sonata with a guy who looks like he's enjoying himself, feel free to say hi and make a request.
I do not know why this deserved it's own thread, but I'm excited, damn it.
I'm putting together some road music as I type, ya know for the hype. Hope ya don't mind if I laugh at your Sonata while you are rocking out to the tunes.... Just funnin' ya, attornaroo; be sure to crank up some Damian Marley and Steel Pulse and I'll try to keep it down in the Town Car so I can hear some notes. 9 days and counting! RooHoo!
"Man and his deed are two distinct things...a good deed should call forth approbation a a wicked deed disapprobation, the doer of the deed, whether good or wicked, always deserves respect or pity as the case may be. 'Hate the sin and not the sinner' is a precept which, though easy enough to understand, is rarely practicsed (sic), and that is why the poison of hatred spreads in the world." -Ghandi

Well, the thing is... I don't support radio. Radio's mid-90s attempt to essentially brainwash America's youth into enjoying garbage (bad music, not the band) was enough to turn me off to radio forever. Since then, I vowed never to listen to the radio again. But at least with Radio Bonnaroo I'll know it's good music. Even so, it's the principal of not supporting a medium that's abused it's privilege.
Maybe I'll just play a bunch of quality classic rock albums. Beatles, Clapton, Stones, Zep, Marley, etc. We'll see.
I don't know, but I would suspect not since it is on the FM station around Manchester. Being a subscriber to XM, I wish they were still broadcasting the sonic stage stuff.
Last year it was on the local Manchester station and also XM 51. But since XM 51 is now internet-only... I 'm thinking the local airwaves is it. I'll probably stick with satellite on the way in, great variety...
Jam On rules! I never listened to radio before Sirius, its nice to not have to carry around cds everywhere you go, knowing there will always be something to listen to.

I agree! I'm in love with my Sirius, and Jam On has been the channel of choice for a loooong time now, especially with Bonnaroo coming up. They've been having "Best Bonnaroo Moments" or something like that lin between jams ately.
Love the Jam On station, or as we sometimes call it the Phish Chanel They have been doing a lot of Roo mentions, and I think they will be doing some broadcasts from the festival. If you have not checked out Sirius, I highly reccomend you do. I drive a lot for work and it is so nice to not have to search for stations, and listen to static. My presets include: Reggae Rhythms Jam On Bluegrass Classic Vinyl Soul Town Howard 100 and 101
and there is so much more for less thank the price of a CD a month. I finally enjoy radio again!
yeahhhh boyeee!! head jams thursday night at midnite! did u try to catch it tonite? i listen to it via internet (being in dallas and all) and all i got was static tonite. night train was still pretty cool though.
89.9 was the official pizza hut cooks radio station when i worked there. that and sound tribe

My hubby just bought a used truck (2005) w/ XM radio already going when we got it. Of course, 6 weeks later the subscription had run out so we renewed. Does anyone know if XM has a jam station? We love sattelite radio now and don't know what we would do without it. I really like the no commercials and for $12 a month it is SO worth it.
We will be rocking to the ipod w/ fm transmitter when we get there because it is loaded w/ all the acts we are going to be seeing. I don't think it is bad luck it just gets me more psyched for roo. I can't wait!!!
Not to mention its actually less then 12 bucks a month if you buy it in a bigger package, like if you get a years worth it probably only equals like 9 bucks a month, or something close to that. I am not sure about XM I would assume they have some sort of jam station, but Ive never looked into it. Jam on on Sirius plays 1 hour of live phish every weeknight though!!!
I will be rockin out in the truck the whole way, and as for the line hopefully there isnt one like it was last year. We actually drove right by the exit because we didnt see no line and we had to turn around and go back 20 miles (because they had 5 exits blocked for local traffic only) to make another try.
itll just be on the FM, no satellite. sirius is out of this world, thats why ill have my sirius boombox at the campsite, catchin some good tunes as im an early riser. classic vinyl in addition to jam on is usually a good bet. lots of dylan. ROO
