Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Well, if you notice the username....I'll be kilted all weekend. And not the traditional Scottish tartans. You asked for "skirts" with cargo pockets, check out www.utilikilts.com. (who will have a booth in Centeroo by the way) Or even:
I'll break the ice - I'll be extremely comfortable at roo in my skirt.
Exalted! ;D
Right back at ya for starting this thread - sorry I crashed your 'for the girls' thread. On my way to target to do some shopping, hopefully I can find something good...
I wouldn't be opposed to wearing one... but I think I look too awkward in them... some guys can totally pull it off, and some can't... I think I'm one of those that can't, but would really like to be able to
this makes me think of when I was a little kid and used to get mad at my little sister because she was allowed to wear pants and skirts, and I could only wear pants.... oh the injustice.
That looks cool but I would worry about my skirt turning into a tent.... ;D And would a guy wear a thong so there are no underwear lines? Or just go without underwear?
Actually, I started it for the guys. I really hope to see some heady skirts on guys at Roo. I loved it on the 2004 Roo DVD when Damien Rice had on a skirt prior to his performance.
If anyone's on the fence about wearing a skirt to Roo ... when else will you ever get the chance to dance around in a twirly skirt?

Here's the skirt I bought this week ... I'm in love
Ooooh that is quite pretty How tall are you by the way, if that's not too weird of a question. After going to about 4 different shops I can't find even one skirt that doesn't drag on the ground or come down inches past my feet. Seems most of the stores around here cater to taller chicks. Gosh :/
There was one little blue patchwork number that I couldn't pass up though. I'm gonna just cut 2 or 3 inches off the bottom
i'm hesitant about the whole skirt thing myself just cause skirt + my klutziness x inebriated state = potential embarassment at my expense but i did risk it last year and wore one sundress, otherwise i was wearing shorts.
i do have some longer pretty ones i thought about bringing, but i actually wear them to work so i wouldn't want them to get muddy and ruined at roo (i'm a big fan of playing in the rain/mud!).... hmmm... maybe i'll just wait and buy one there? no better place to find a one probably.

Hmmm getting one there might be a good idea, hadn't thought about that. I can't seem to have any luck around here finding a good long skirt at stores and what not (could be cause I'm not quite the expert in finding women's clothing).

Congrats on your new skirt!
I'm 5'9" so I have to opposite problem and can never find them long enough because I like them to graze the ground when I walk. When it gets muddy at Roo, I just grab the bottom edge and tuck it into the waist - works great.
Anyone know where to get a cool sarong? I've always wanted one.
You will be able to find a great selection of sarongs at Roo - lots of nice tie-dyed ones. And then once you get back to the real world, you can use it as a curtain in your heady apartment

lucky lucky girl. i'm about 5 foot 3. could i borrow an inch or 2?
off topic, that bonnaroo sarong a few pages back is really cute. i wonder if they'll be selling '06 ones this year.
Roo has this 2005 sarong for sale. I would love to see a guy in it.
Trix, if you buy the sarong, I'll be happy to model it for you.
I'll be rooing with a minimum of funds, so sarongs aren't really high up on the list of expenditures this year. Anyone who wants to make a heady sarong donation is welcome though! ;D
A) The idea of no pockets keeps popping up. UTILIKILTS my friends. Think cargo pants/shorts, but in the form of a kilt. Someone mentioned they can hold 6 beers...it gets better my friends. There is one model, The SURVIVAL, that can hold 20!!!! Beers, water bottles, whatever. Now that's plenty of pocket space if you ask me.
2) "Modesty Snaps" - Not all models of UKs have them. Currently I believe it's only the WORKMANS that come with them. (that's what I'm wearing in the picture I posted a few pages back).
UK will have a booth at the Roo, so I suggest you check them out. They have one model that is made from the same material as basketball style shorts....OMG....HEAVEN!
huh. i am actually interested. i kinda dissapoint myself because i am so conditioned by society that i just cant imagine myself wearing a skirt/kilt. but thats stupid of me. it seems like it would be comfortable. screw the shorts underneath though. the whole advantage would be the cooling factor.
Just wanted to bring this back to the top. I was VERY impressed with the amount of kilts I saw over the weekend! Of all sorts, Utilikilts, Sport Kilts, AmeriKilts....Great great!

kiltedroo, I saw you several times in VIP, but never said "hi" because I convinced myself it wasn't you because I didn't know you were going VIP. I'm so bummed I didn't get to talk to you.
Yes, the skirt sitings were awesome! I got tons of pics of guys in skirts - a lot more than I posted in the Roo Pics thread. I think it drove Kelly crazy because I was grabbing the camera all of the time to take pics of guys in skirts.

I wore a sarong on Sunday. WOW! Best idea ever!!! I have cool funky underwear from H&M that were the perfect compliment. The underwear were yellow with big red stars and I found a sarong on shakedown that had a brightly colored dragon and planets. I got lots of compliments and my picture taken a lot. Next year, it will be nothing but sarongs for this guy during the day.
