Theres alot more guys out there wearing them in the past few years... My friend Joey wears his once in awhile and i ran into my friend Rus who i met at camp bisco last summer and he had one on... I've never worn one myself but i would definately try, im sure its comfortable as hell... Maybe i'll borrow one from a friend and 10k lakes and give it a whirl... Especially if you girlies are getting all flustered over it

I was strangely arroused by some of the boys in skirts... I'm all kinds of confused now
Haha same. I thought they looked very sexy. My boyfriend suggested he wear one of my skirts and I was like mmmmm OK ;D He didn't follow through but I would have liked it......
I was strangely attracted to some guys who wore them too- didn't expect to be. I think it's awesome that some guys can put preconceived notions behind them and wear a skirt. It takes a certain amount of confidence and aloofness, I know there are some things I can't wear because of my self-consciousness.

Thats what i find kinda sexy about girls who dont mind not shaving their pits for awhile, it says something about them... Not that girls who DO shave all the time are insecure or anything, but you know what i mean...

I like the minimalness (sp?) of a skirt. Its funny because i'm a pretty athletic looking guy and you get a lot more strange looks like so, and my friends find it entertaining. At 05 one night i even went down to just my running tights, lets just say i wasnt all there though.....mentally.
Any good links for sarongs that aren't TOO lady like?
Ya know, if I could get one without fringe, I'd be a happy dude.
The best place I have found to look at a huge assortment of various skirts/sarongs for Roo is eBay. Just do a search for "tie dye sarong", "brown sarong", "hippy skirt", "patchwork skirt" or some variation like that and hundreds of items will come up. They are usually pretty cheap and run from $9 to $12, plus shipping.
I can't wait to see EVERYONE in their hippy skirts in June!! ;D
Haha - This is the first time I read this thread since 'roo last year - kind of funny to see I made it on your camera. You should have come over to me, I would have taken a picture with you...

DAMN IT! I was behind you the whole time during Ben Folds! Oh well, in 2007 we'll get a picture together.
For guys who are looking to purchase their first skirt/sarong for Roo, I want to provide more information/tips to help you decide what to get.
1. Skirts: There are full skirts, and not-so-full skirts. A full skirt is a complete circle of material when spread out on the ground - the waist is the center of the circle and the skirt fans out. Not-so-full skirts are straighter with less material. Personally, I prefer full skirts because there's tons of material to swish and dance in. If the length starts to bother you at any point, on a full skirt, you can just grab two points from the bottom of the skirt, tuck them into the waist and you now have a short skirt.
Sarong: A sarong is a piece of material, about the size of a twin-size sheet. You can tie it in several different ways to create different lengths. When I wear sarongs, I usually wear a pair of shorts underneath, and take the sarong off and use it as a blanket when sitting under trees, etc. Sarongs also fold up very small and fit well in most backpacks for use as a windbreak when lighting cigerettes, etc. Most tie-dye vendors at Roo sell nice sarongs for $25. Once you get home, you can use it as a wall decoration or a curtain until the next Roo.
- full skirt.
- I'm wearing a not-so-full skirt, but on the ground is a sarong. (My dad & I at the Independence Day Jam Fest '06, Oklahoma City).
Another cool thing to try that I picked up at Roo last year are those sarong pants. Same comfort and "cooling" as a skirt or sarong, but in awesome pants.
Those skirts look delightful. Are they at all warm for the nights? I mean for just sitting or laying down, not walking.
During the day I wear gauzy ones to stay cool. At night I wear thicker ones that are lined, and also wear my fannel pjs under them, which cannot be seen because my skirts drag the ground.

I'm probably not gonna wear a skirt this year, because my girlfriend already thinks im odd enough, and im trying to ease her into bonnaroo, but i but by the time i get there and start suffocating in the heat, my mind may very well change. If only guys could wear skirts all year, and not just at bonnaroo, soo comfortable.

Like many of us women, she might just find it very sexy I would have no problem if my fiance decided to wear one.
