did anyone buy a set? We just got a pair of Uniden 2-ways because I know at some point we will split up to see different bands but want to get in touch to get back together

I bought a set of cheapie Audiovox off of eBay. Still, they seem relatively complex and the directions make it sound as if I'll end up talking to World War II ghosts and I'm almost wondering if they're worth the trouble of learning.
Last year we bought some Motorola walkie-talkies, but never used them because we stuck together. This year I can already see some schedule differences so I'm sure we'll need them.
we used ours throughout the festival last year - I imagine we'll have them again. I found them really useful, since we split up a lot. I guess it all depends on your group dynamics...
it helps to get ones where you can tune into sub-channels and not ones that have just, say 10-20 channels. with 80 thousand people there, you know those channels will be jammed up and you're just gonna be talking to some random w00ks. with sub-channels, you can tune into one of the main channels and then have like 50 more to choose from under that. all you have to do is scan through some random sub-channels and find one that isn't as busy.
Thanks for reminding me that I bought a pair of Audiovoxen for $39 (marked down from $150... uhh...). I would have bought the $49 ones but they weighed too much. I want to charge them up and see if they really work before I pack them. More shizzz.
I bought some new ones tonight. Wal-Mart has a pair that come with recharable batteries, a charging station, earpiece/headset thingy. They are marked as "12 Mile" range. They also have a built in national weather radio capabilities, which is nice if you're into that sort of thing. It was a pretty good buy for $40, Cobra was the brand I believe.
We bought some last year but they were completely worthless... unless you like hearing other people talk on them every second they became the most annoying thing ever.
I bought them because my friend has a press pass so there will definitely be times where we're apart. They're Motorola, but cheaper ones, about $20. They say they have a 4-mile radius, but I didn't think about all the other people jamming up the channels. I hope they'll be of some use...

We got a set of the same thing. Tune to channel 11; we'll chat ;-)

That's what I am talking about! LMAO - I was wondering how many other people from inforoo we could find if we all went to the same channel.
