So, 8 days after I bought my tickets, I find out that I'm 4-5 weeks pregnant. That would put me at about 6-7 months pregnant for the big show. I was wondering if anyone here has attended a musical festival while carrying a baby? Whether or not I go definitely depends on my health situation, my comfort at 6 months, and what my doctor says about it. If it looks to be an especially hot year, I'll probably bow out anyway. Has anyone done this? Did you regret it? I'll probably turn into a big baby and decide that would be way too much walking for me anyway lol
I have seen many pregnant women at the roo over the years. As far as it turning out to be an especially hot year, it's Tennessee in June, it ALWAYS turns out to be an especially hot year.
I hope I am not alone in my adoration for the preggers. There is something beautifully magical about a pregnant hippie girl, shoeless and jammin to the tunes at roo!
My wife was 4 1/2 months pregnant at the last roo and we had a great time. We had to do things a bit differently than previous roos we had attended. We went in an RV with a generator. The AC was essential if you can't do this I would not recommend going. We stayed toward the back of all big shows. We were always aware of the heat and staying hydrated. All in all it was a great experience. If you do go check about getting a handicapped permit. We did not do this and were stuck with a relatively long walk into Centeroo. We found out later that we could have gotten a handicapped permit which would have made life much easier/better for my wife. Best of luck to you. When my wife gets home I will tell her about your post and I am sure she will want to add info.

I attended many Grateful Dead shows and many festivals when I was around 2-5 months pregnant and didn't have any problems apart from the nausea. Once you get past 5-6 months, you have to take into account carrying that extra weight around and let me tell you it is very tiring. You also have to pee all the time once you have the baby taking up all that space and pushing on all your organs.
So to be honest, if it was me, I can't imagine doing it unless you have an RV and are in the VIP area close to everything.

i tend to agree...last year there was a lady who actually gave birth in one of the pods. it was crazy! but since you're not due during 'roo...i'd check out the VIP/RV situation. it makes life alot easier.
I have camped right beside 2 pregnant women at past bonnaroos. 1 was amazing and more of a trooper than I at certain times. She had a blast and it showed. The other went expecting a good time and had a horrible time. Looked like she was near death all weekend and then left6 a day early.
I think pregnancy is just one of those things that is different every time.

My husband and I have been every year so far and I just found out I'm pregnant. We plan on going as long as the doctor says it's okay. I don't think we can afford the luxury of an RV but I plan on staying as cool as possible. I should be about 6 months along too. Cheers.
I actually sorta learned about this last semester. Being hot usually doesn't affect the baby, as it is insulated in your body and it is a body's natural response to send heat/cool air to the vital organs first. Of course, this will be extreme heat, so it is important to stay cool and you will get dehyrdated a lot quicker than a non-pregnant woman. Extreme heat is bad for the baby (especially during the 1st trimester), though so just if you start to feel too hot or dizzy, find a cool spot. It's very VERY important to constantly drink water. Of course don't do any of the drugs offered. And some body oils are also bad for the baby. Your baby should definitely be fine! Just make sure you aren't uncomfortable!
Some henna would definitely be pretty
here's a site if you want to read an actual article instead of trusting me
I'm not a girl, but my wife just had our first baby back in August. I'd make sure the doctor clears you. Right around month 6 or 7 was when my wife had to go on bed rest. You'd hate to be down there, and have something happen.
The heat, plus all the physical activity will really take its toll. I don't think it's impossible or anything, but just be careful.
i will be 8 months prego at roo...i have no idea what an rv cost to rent, but does any one think that it would be a hugely worth while investment, or just costly luxury

I think at 8 months, there is no other way to go. You are uncomfortable most of the time at that point, so believe me you will want comfort where you can get it.
