Well last year was the first Roo my wife and I attended after wanting to go for many years. It was such a great time with the weather, our camping spot (although it was in BFE, we were in the shade) and just an all around great experience. It was so great that we were not planning on returning this year because we didn't want it ruined.
Now after reading Tara's convince me to go VIP thread we are seriously considering going again but taking the VIP route.
What I would like to know is how much tent space do they give you? Roo was the fist time my wife has camped and after years of trying to get her to camp she decided it was something she liked on the condition we picked up a family size tent so we could take our son camping this year (not to Roo). The REI Taj 3 was too small for her.
So for Christmas we received a Eureka Extended stay family tent. It is 14'x19' which includes a screened in porch in the front. Will it fit in VIP tent only?
Plenty of room for that tent of yours. Look at the post "Convince me to go VIP please!" Page 2.. Look at the pictures, you will find that you will have more then enough room.
Our camp is marked in yellow in this one, and just right of the pink star are the bathrooms w/ac:
Our shade tent is noted by the yellow arrow Our tent, with screenroom, is noted by the green arrow Kelly has her arms up, praying to the God of the Pink Arrow And my Jetta is noted by the blue arrow
Here's a line of VIP camps:
Another VIP camp (I love it when I get the chance to post pics of guys in skirts ;D):
Although the bathrooms look far away in the aerial, the walk from the main stage to them is as long as it takes to smoke a cigarette - so 4 or 5 minutes. I think they are put there so that any smell is not noticable from any VIP camps and, also, so that the trucks that empty them can easily access them. The showers are in the same area as well.
To answer the original question, yes, a big tent with a screenroom will fit, because our tent has a screenroom, too. We don't use the screenroom for chilling/hanging out, just for hanging wet towels, etc., though.
